Original Retractable Key Holder with a Black Front, Steel Belt Loop, Split Ring

I work for telecom company and don't have power locks on my work van. I get in and out probably 25 to 40 times a day and unlock the doors manually, I can unlock and just let go of the key and it never snaps and hits me in a wrong spot, it could if I had many keys instead of 1. I have another quick release attached so the key is long enough to rest in my pocket when not in use or I can disconnect for driving, but could also drive with it attached and its comfortable and doesn't pull on the ignition much at all with it wrapped over the gear shift lever, trust me it works and clears it from the steering wheel. The Kevlar cord is lightweight and it glides in/out better than the metal chain style or even the plastic coated cable which tends to crack and get a crusty feeling. I didn't think I would like the loop style versus the clip, but have grown to like it.

I work at an arcade part time & didn't like having to dig the keys out of the pocket or using a lanyard. Bought this & was greatly pleased. This isn't a little plastic i.d. holder, but rather a nicely sturdy all metal device. It fits just right on my belt, and the 36" is just long enough for what I need. I am 5'11", and this length lets me reach the locks on the back of pinball machines etc, but without much slack left on some machines. If shorter may want to spring for longer model if dealing with similar.I have only had it a few weeks, but no issues and feels hefty, especially for the low price.

It only took a week or two for the string to wear through the plastic ring at the outlet of the reel, which then caused the string to rub against some interior metal part, which was not smooth. Soon thereafter, the string snapped. Why the heck do they not put a smooth metal ring at the outlet? The strings on all my other Key-Baks made very deep grooves into the plastic housings, which made them very frustrating to use. The only heavy duty one I haven't tried yet is the one with the chain, but it's too short for me. Frustrating. I work for FedEx Express and have to use my keys to open doors on my truck and start my vehicle, adding up to over a hundred pull-outs a day.
