Q: Is there a schematic available?

I don't believe so, but you can start with the data sheet for the WM8731 IC from Cirrus Logic, which is the CODEC with headphone driver chip used with this card. That would probably give you what you're looking for.

This device is designed to work with line level unbalanced inputs. An XLR microphone is balanced and low impedance. A microphone is also a much weaker level signal than line level. You would need a preamplifier to bring the microphone up to line level, and you will need a high impedence (high z) unbalanced output.

Q: Is the 3.5 mm jack port on this sound card for output to headphone or input from mic?

Other forums state that this is output for headphones. There is a spot next to the 3.5 mm jack port to solder on a small mic. For audio in and out, you add RCA type phono connectors.
