Great 12 hue wheel for people who paint, make quilts, or study color theory. Very nice pocket format to take it wherever you go. Made of solid coated paper, this wheel seems to be sturdy. You have a few definitions (color, hue, value, intensity, tint, tone, shade, and neutral gray) plus a gray scale value of 10 on the front with all around the guide to mixing colors that goes from red to orange, yellow, green, blue and violet plus the intermediary colors. on the back you have an illustration of color relationship and a few explanations about how to use the wheel. You will also find definitions of Monochromatic, Analogous and complementary colors, etc. In the center a rectangle, square will help you to find the perfect tetrad combination while the superposed triangles will help you to come up with a nice triad or split complimentary. To finish an arrow will indicate you the complementary colors. Very easy to use, you just have to turn the wheel! Great purchase!

Oh, my gosh! I LOVE this thing! It was just delivered several minutes ago. I spent about 10 minutes with it and feel like I've had an explosion of comprehension! I realize that color theory must be more deep and complex than this initial introduction (it is isn't it?) but this is clearly the fundamentals--and grasping them and having this tool to guide me has given me an instant confidence in my ability to use color that I have always lacked. I can't get over the wealth of information concisely contained in this little device. I have, of course, seen the color wheel represented in various books over the years, but somehow this device caused the information to finally penetrate--maybe because it's a dynamic tool (rather than a flat and static page) that allows you to visually comprehend rather than receiving the information only intellectually. Well, whatever... But if you feel intimidated by color or just need some back-up, this is an amazing device. I highly recommend it. May I suggest that you carefully trim its package to open it so that you can retain a sleeve to keep it in.

This is a small version of the popular color wheel most often seen. This one is 5 inches in diameter and is easy to read. It is always available on my drawing board and travels with me outside. To me it is the perfect size. :-)

いわゆる色相環。 色の相性見るための道具。絵を描くときに使うの。 デザインも使い勝手もいい！！ ……のですけど、ちょっと小さかった。 よく見たらポケットって書いてあるしね。 でもこれのデザインが良くできているので、もっと大きいサイズも取り扱ってほしい。 日本じゃなかなか売ってないのですよね。米あまさんから買わなきゃダメかなぁ。

Lieferung kam Schnell (nach Wien), keinerlei Beschädigungen. Hatte dieses Farbenrad schon einmal, beim niedergelassenen, Kunstzubehör-Geschäft gekauft. Das Aussehen und die Funktion sind die gleichen. Nur dieses ist viel kleiner. Das irritierte mich anfangs. Außen Durchmesser 13 cm. Sollte sich jeder Mensch zulegen, der mit Farben zutun hat. Bringt Informationen und Ideen zu Farbmischungen. Empfehlenswert.

I am someone who has very little idea of putting together a stylish wardrobe. I read somewhere that a colour wheel is a good resource to have at hand. It enables you to brainstorm different colour combinations for whatever you are working on. For this purpose, this colour wheel is an excellent tool. This particular one has been made in the USA and comprises two card discs that rotate around a centre. On one side, you can learn about colour MIXING. On the other side, you can learn about COMPLIMENTARY colours. The quality is slick and it is very easy to use once you give it a quick once-over. I would highly recommend it to any art student, design enthusiast or someone like myself who is clueless about colour combinations and is looking for ideas to put together a decent wardrobe.
