Still a standard
I had one of these harnesses in the long-long ago, when I was on ski patrol, SAR, and fought wildland fire. In those days, it carried a Bendix King. I have no idea where I lost my first one, but somewhere in the shuffle it vanished. This replacement is meant for my amateur radio handheld. My Kenwood D72A fits perfectly. I adjusted the radio to the "small radio" position, which means the display sits above the holder, so I can see my readouts. If I wanted it more secure (when hiking, skiing, etc) I would move it deeper into the pouch so it would have a bit more support. This is a pretty amazing radio harness. It is the standard for a reason. It is well built, sturdy, and does just what it needs to very well. With that, the material is heavy duty, and should last forever. But, that means for as small a system as this is, it does have a bit of weight to it. But, I will take that weight with the quality. In addition, just food for thought in case someone is interested in this for an amateur radio -- you will need to lock your buttons, because of the way the radio sits in the holder. Outside of simply wearing a radio on a belt, which I cannot stand, I haven't found a great way to deal with this. It is just the nature of the radios versus the harness. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for such a radio harness that will tolerate whatever is thrown at it.

Great product, comfortable, and useful!
I work on the railroad as a freight conductor, and this is the perfect harness if your on the ground switching cars, or on the road. Easy to take off and put back on. I’m 6’1 255 athletic frame and it fits but any bigger than me and it would be tight. Radio fits well, room for paperwork, pens, or notepad. Only time it can be annoying is when wearing a vest, because it bunches the vest up, but not a big deal.

Good SAR chest rig
I really like this product and will give it 5 stars. I used it in SAR. I don't love that it puts the interns in my face and I've gotten ropes grabbing th I Tena but that because of the antennas we have. It holds everything I need. For the cost it's worth it's a great value. Point deduction for how the straps sit on my shoulders when weighed down. It's versatile and I will use it for other activities especially because it's so light.

Almost Perfect
I've been using this harness for a couple years in the ski industry. I spend a lot of time on my skis, and I needed a way to carry my radio, a note pad, and pen in a way that wasn't going to injur me if I fell, or release all my stuff all over the hill. This does that perfectly. The only thing I would change is the harness itself. It stays put just fine, but it tends to ride up my back and the radio pouch sags in the front. It's a very small annoyance, but its there. Overall, I'd buy it again. I'm still giving it 5 stars because this thing is built so well, it will probably outlast me. I think it's an excellent choice for my application.

I love this harness
I love this harness, it works great. I wish I would have purchased the larger one because I ran out of room fast with this thing. I work as a special event medic that is constantly away from my trauma bag. I found it annoying to have everything in one pouch. Also unless I’m wearing an ear piece I found the front facing design of the radio to be a major flaw. For example when I’m responding to front stage or even behind stage. It was extremely difficult to hear radio traffic. I ended up rotating the radio inward so the speaker wasn’t facing away from me. It can also be used as a concealed carry holster, it holds my XDS 3.3in with that standard mag

It does what it is supposed to do
I use this (so far) as a holder for my cell phone when I go to the mountains. Instead of driving with a bulky item on my belt (cell phone holster) I just drop my cell phone in the sleeve on the chest harness. I will use this when hunting to carry the cell phone and the radio. Previously, when using radios in the woods...you were always sticking the radio in one pocket or another or in the backpack. Never at the ready. This will change that. Plus you can slide some water purifying tablets and a small platypus in the sleeve. It is NOT a roomy sleeve by design. If you want more room on your chest get the Conterra tool chest (which will be bulkier...also by design) But this size item fits my need perfectly. Construction is solid. Just thick enough in the straps and body to make it sturdy. But it is easy to adjust and make very comfortable.

Especially useful for keeping your electronics warm and protected inside your ...
I use this harness to hold my radio, cell phone, GPS, pen, and notepad during search and rescue missions in the Sierra Nevada. Especially useful for keeping your electronics warm and protected inside your jacket during the wind and cold and snow, but also easily within reach. The radio pouch is very well designed, with room for a mic attachment and an elastic band for holding the antennae. Easy access velcro pouch for other items is handy as well. Has made SAR work much easier.

Worth the price; should prove very suitable for my volunteer comms duty.
I'm using this radio chest harness with my Baofeng UV-5R handheld transceiver and find that the radio fits reasonably well in its holster. With the extended battery attached, I find it works best for plugging in a hand speaker/mic. The harness feels small both in dimensions and restrictiveness, but is snug and suitable for the task, so that's not really complaint per se. If you compare this harness to a soldier's LBE, you'll be disappointed, but it does have a rugged quality with its wider-than-typical shoulder straps. The cargo pouch is a serious Velcro 'stickem' to it; you really have to rip it open ... so hoping that'll prove to be a good thing when running or climbing.
