We had a 3D-printed hair catch that worked OK for a number of years but needed to be replaced (old/clogs happening more frequently). I thought I'd try this OXO shroom-style catcher given I really do like most other OXO products I have. This one is no exception, it is simple to install, easy to maintain, and catches a lot of hair.I find we end up "cleaning" it every few days, and that consists of removing the center element, wiping the hair off with a tissue, and reinstalling it - all of 10 seconds time. If installed correctly, it also does not interfere with drainage in the tub/shower -- I've found the element that sits in the drain needs to dip down just slightly, but the outer ring band is designed to do this. It's hard to explain, but will make sense when you install it. Just make sure it looks inset.Best of all, no clogs in the drain since we put it in.

This product is easy to use and maintain, offering good value for the price. One of the key benefits is its effectiveness in preventing clogs in drains. For those with long hair, like myself, drains tend to clog every one to two months due to hair accumulation. To ensure optimal performance, cleaning the product after each use is advisable, as accumulated hair can slow drainage. Beware of the product going apart in six months since it's made of plastic. Overall, I find this product better than other tub hair catchers.

OXO means quality, right? Reasonable to pay a bit extra, right? It looks pretty, easy to install. All silicone, 3 parts, with a silver look on the drain cover. But, it can no longer close the drain if you want to fill the sink with water. It's just decorative to hide the hair catcher on the underside.. It does a great job collecting hair or debris but, and it's a big but, it's very difficult to clean. Within 2 weeks the drain catcher parts will be solid black mold that you get to try soaking and scrubbing dozens of holes, and multi groove components, but you will fail. You can soak it in bleach, oxy or tile cleaner, nothing makes it clean again. But every 2 weeks you'll be trying again. I held OXO up as quality products, but they should be ashamed to put their name on this junk. Buy this and you'll soon be disgusted just knowing it's in your sink.

It does what it is supposed to, prevent hair from going down the drain. However, it slows the drain down so much that after a few minutes you will be standing in an inch or more of water. I would imagine that someone with long hair would experience an even slower drain rate after some hair was caught in the strainer. If you don't mind standing in water while showering then this works well and is easy to clean. Typically OXO's products are some of the best. The only reason I gave it 3*s is because it does catch hair. I'll be returning or tossing mine once I find something better.

Easy to use! I have really long hair so I need a tool to keep the shower drain clear. We tried several other strainers, but none quite worked. This device has a two-stage hair catcher that keeps the drain clear. It fills up quickly, though, so sometimes I have to pull out the top part and clear off the hair mid-shower. Since it's easy to remove from the drain, this is not a problem. It's a breeze to clean.

I have long hair and it works great!! I have been struggling to keep bathtub drain from clogging and this did it!! It actually works! It does let you know it's full meaning once it's full of hair it water will stand a little bit and then once hair is removed the water will drain as it should. It's super easy to remove the hair and install into the drain!

I have a ton of OXO products in my kitchen and have always been pleased with the quality; however, this shower drain is terrible. First, the stainless-steel naming is misleading because apart from the little circle at the top, the rest is made from cheap silicone. Second, while it does catch hair, the capacity is really small, so I have to empty it out at least 2 times while washing my long hair. I am still in the market for quality product.
