Practical for all day use
It is hard to believe when looking at these super stretchy support braces that they will help. But once you get them on properly, OH MY, there is a big difference and they really do support the wrist and thumbs also.Only four stars because they are very tiny and it takes a huge amount of pulling and tugging to get them on properly, with the embossed line in the middle of the thumb. And that process does stress my hands. I am a woman who wears medium size women's gloves and my wrist measures 6 1/4" around. If your arthritis is severe you might not have the strength to get them on at all. One more thing to note is that if you have "old skin" which means loose, you need to run your finger under the support after it is on to make sure the skin is smooth because if it gets wrinkled (which mine does every time) and pinched. After a couple hours it will itch and then when you take the supports off the itch is enough to drive you nuts for about an hour. This is not a reaction to the material the supports are made from but a result of the skin not being smooth under the tight bands.I wish I could give these 5 stars because they help my hands and wrists more than the fingerless stretchy arthritis gloves I have and I don't have to take these off 8 to 10 times a day when I do anything near water (like cooking, cutting vegetables, using the bathroom, etc.). But the challenge of putting them on is too difficult for a 5 star rating. To be fair, if they weren't that tight they probably wouldn't do what they do for supporting the wrists and hands.

Not Near Perfect, but Adequate for the Price
Just received these, and I was pretty excited about their overall design. After only an hour of wearing, I can basically confirm other comments on the site. First, because they are gel (with no protective fabric on the outside), they definitely could cause sweating. One user's recommendation of applying talcum powder was a good one -- except that talcum is toxic, so use a corn starch based product (or just corn starch, for that matter) to absorb moisture. While I agree that these braces allow me to continue typing (I'm a writer), they are not supportive enough to fully eradicate the arthritis pain in my thumb. I suspect that something with elastic would be better, although such a product would require proper sizing. Still, these braces help somewhat, but not all that much. For the price, however, they're probably good enough even though I'll probably continue to look for a better solution.NEXT DAY UPDATE: After wearing the glove for several hours, I need to modify my original opinion. Yes, sweating is definitely an issue, but my thumb pain disappeared. Still working on a less messy way to get baby powder distributed because it did absorb the dampness (even though it didn't feel like it). I'm adding one star to my rating because it would buy it again (and will probably have to since it doesn't feel like it will last a long time before tearing)..

They Really Work!!!
UPDATE: 02-19-2018 -I have had these for about a month now. I use these in unison with the clunky Velcro braces that I wear overnight. I am still very impressed by the pressure and relief these braces provide! The only downfall I have seen is the staining and smell. I work in a retail environment with a large warehouse. My position requires a lot of running wire and supporting devices so I am in both areas (sales floor and warehouse) quite frequently. As a result of the warehouse work my braces have become stained from the dust and grime. I have run them through both dishwasher and washing machine. I have also soaked them in bleach. All to no avail. They remain stained. Now, this doesn't matter to me. I don't wear them as a fashion piece. But some might find that information useful. If worn too long they sweat and therefore smell. Again, I wash them and that is corrected.I still am very pleased with them!I have only had these support braces for 24 hours but am so impressed thus far! I have both carpel tunnel and arthritis so there can be some painful days. On those days I would wear the cumbersome full length support braces. Don't get me wrong, they work. But trying to get anything done while wearing them is pointless. They are good for sleeping if the pain is really bad.But these miracles are life changing! It is so hard to believe something so small can provide such perfect compression. I have worked from home, filled out and addressed 40 baby shower invitations, and worked out. All while wearing these. With no normal pain or discomfort. I am so impressed! Did I already say that? Well I am.I would Definitely recommend these to anyone who suffers from wrist or thumb pain regularly and is looking for a different solution that actually works!

Works but could be designed better
Pros: Gives my thumb and wrist support that relieves pain for "mom thumb", is nude colored so it is not super obvious when wearing it, fits good and would stretch to fit smaller or larger hand size easily.Cons: The gel gets caught when I am carrying my child or changing their clothes or really and texture rubs against it. If I sweat in it, it becomes itchy immediately and has to be washed and dried before you can reuse, can kind of pull your skin when you first put it on until it is situated correctly.

Nice material with benefits but too tight around wrist
I purchased this item for my 86 year-old mother, to help alleviate some thumb pain she was experiencing. While the material is very nice, and as somebody commented you can wash your hands without worrying about getting them wet, as you would with a fabric product, ultimately this product didn't work for her. She found them too tight around the wrist, and because she has lymphedema in one arm, it created more of a concern. Unfortunately, we are one week beyond the return window, so we are unable to return this item.
