Costly But Good Condition
At some point in time I lost this volume of mine so I had to buy a new one on amazon. For some reason it took absolutely forever to get to me to the point I had to contact customer service multiple times because I had no idea where it was and the tracking wasn't working but eventually it didn't make it to me. It was in perfect condition without any markings or tears. I like the art style because it's not too busy and well it's not my favorite series it's definitely worth a read in my opinion.

Even Better than the Anime
Having read another collected translation of Cocoa Fujiwara's work I was looking for more of her (yup one of the rare successful female manga artists) of her work when I found the anime series "Inu X Boku SS." I enjoyed the anime so went searching for the manga but only found fan translations and scans. Once I heard it was available in an official English translation and in the USA I had to buy it.Sometimes the fan translations are better but in this case the official is superb and, of course, the drawing is exactly the same. The story is both creepy and enticing but it is also quick paced and edgy. I found it appealed to the female dominant characters I liked but also wasn't as straight forward as some of these can be so it challenged me in positive ways.Warning: this does have an adult-teen relationship so if that bothers you, don't buy it.If you want to encourage officially translations and more releases of manga in the USA buy the series you love when they become available.

This story will make you smile and cry at the same time - beautiful!
I absolutely ADORE this manga! I got hooked watching the anime, which only covers one of the arcs in the manga, and I had to read the rest. It's sweet, poignant, and funny at times. Populated by off-beat characters, wonderful artwork, and a great romantic story that will have you smiling and crying at the same time. I can't get enough of the story, and I was so terribly sad to hear of the untimely death of the mangaka. The series is complete in Japanese, though, but I hate that we won't be seeing any more of her wonderful work.

Very good
~3.5/5[More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.]I was really hopeful with this series. I watched the anime just earlier this year and really enjoyed it, and have heard very good things about the manga. Still, I was surprised (mildly) to see that Yen Press was publishing it, but added it to my list immediately. And because of how excited I was, how hopeful, I doused that with a lot of worry. Because I didn’t want to have my expectations too high, to be disappointed. Either way, this was a really good volume. It didn’t get me obsessed or anything yet, but with a few more volumes, who knows. Our main character, Ririchiyo, has a hard time not being mean to other people, no matter how badly she wants to be nice. She’s grown up with a hard shell, and doesn’t know how to tear it down. At the start of the series, she moves into a dorm-like building, with several other people like her, and all of whom have a servant/bodyguard. Hers is Soushi, who is very fond of her, rather protective and ‘emotional’ and attached to her. She doesn’t want a bodyguard, but he doesn’t intend to leave, unless she strictly orders him to do so, and she doesn’t want to do that.I love their relationship, particularly how Soushi acts with her, all adoring and fond and not wanting to leave her side for a second or let her make her own breakfast. I am really looking forward to their relationship growing and developing, and for them to develop on their own, as well as seeing more of their back-stories.Then there’s the other occupants of the house. They’re all very unique and adorable and hilarious. There’s a woman who has a fixation on good looking women like Ririchiyo, and her ‘master’, someone who knows Ririchiyo from when she was younger, who is lazy and laidback. There’s Roromiya, who is quiet and observant and always eating something, who I personally love and really want to know better. We met a couple other characters as well, Natsume who is manipulative and kind of psychic, and Watanuki who likes Roromiya and is defensive and dislikes being looked down on, and there are still more to come, I know. There’s a lot more to find out with the characters and the plot, and I’m really looking forward to reading more, seeing it all develop.

I'd like a yokai servant too please
The first volume of Inu x Boku SS contains chapters 1 to 4.It is rated OT for older teen due to language and violence.Inu x Boku SS is an interesting manga as it is classed as shonen (for boys) but I'd say it caters more to girls. The story is about a girl from a rich family moving out of her home and into her own apartment so she can be alone. Although the residents of the apartment building, Maison de Ayakashi, aren't all completely human. The girl, Ririchiyo, has a bit of an attitude problem. She acts confident and rude on the outside but inside she is always worrying about what others think. SS stands for Secret Service, everyone at Maison de Ayakashi is given a servant when they enter. Ririchiyo's servant is extremely loyal, almost as if he was a dog.The first volume introduces you to all the characters and gives you a bit of background information. The story does seem to throw you straight in at the deep end and everything happens so fast, but by the end of the volume I understood the story and started to really like some of the characters. What I will praise the most is the art. It's just beautiful. The girls are all pretty and the guys are all hot. With some BL and yuri jokes thrown in, I think anyone can enjoy this story.I would compare it slightly to Black Butler. With the loyal servant and non-human cast, but at the same time it gives off a completely different feeling.I enjoyed it anyway and I look forward to the next volume.
