Sliding Door Latch- Pool Safety Latch Two Way Opening Sliding Door Latch (Black)

Absolutely perfect for our barn door to our laundry room. We needed to be able to block the dogs in the laundry room so they could still use the dog door. Perfect!

This was easy to install and works almost as expected.Feels flimsy because of the plastic construction.Only issues, a little steep on price and the the ability to stop the latch from locking open and not working.If you turn to unlock and go all the way it locks open until you press the release button on the inside. I couldn't get my users to stop "unlocking" all the way so I fixed it.With a small drill bit and a nail, I make a hole for the nail to sit and keep the latch from opening all the way, Now it's locked in the working position. Didn't see any other way to do this.

The media could not be loaded. I would have given this sliding door lock 5 stars if it was made of all metal. Hopefully the plastic will hold up. I also wish there were arrows on the latch showing what direction to turn them… especially being plastic. I printed off little “stickers” showing the open direction to hopefully prevent someone from forcing the latch in the wrong direction and breaking it. The lock seems to be made for a door that slides the opposite direction that my door does, so the lock had to be installed “upside down” and I’m hoping the spring mechanism doesn’t break or it won’t stay latched. Additionally, the price is a little steep, especially being plastic. Make it metal and the price would be justified. All in all… it works and serves its purpose. As long as it holds up and doesn’t break I would recommend purchasing this sliding door latch as of now.

Only closes from one side. Says it opens from both sides making it seems like it would close from both sides too
