MY PERSONAL BEST on the market
Since needing incontinent underwear for many years now due to having MS, I have tried /sampled numerous brands. This product exceeds expectations over all others although Tena runs a close second. I feel protected despite having urinated several times before I need to change. How wonderful it is to go out & not have those "Ooops" or "Darn" or other expletives moments. They cost more than other products, but Direct Noir has repeatedly shown me its worth!

Dry Direct Noir - medium gets 5 stars, small gets 3 stars
Since Dad's stroke in May 2021 we have tried nearly every well-reviewed continency underwear line on the market (Abena, Because, Depends, DryDirect, LivDry, Northshore, Prevail, Solimo/Amazon Basics, and others I can't begin to remember). We even tried multiple products within those lines and adding extra absorbency liners/etc. trying to find something that would consistently not leak overnight for a side sleeper who also takes a daily diuretic due to COPD and congestive heart failure.DryDirect Noir Ultimate Protection Underwear (Made in Italy version) was our first success with side sleeping due to their excellent chassis cut leg openings--plus their black color resembling "real" underwear was a HUGE self-esteem perk (doctor even mistook them for "regular" underwear during exam). However, these only worked well when he could still wear a medium (this size provides 5-star performance for day and overnight). However, as he atrophied and grew thinner even the chassis legs began to leak, and the transition to size small was unfortunate due to its disproportionately lower back rise that leaked from Day 1. Size small gets 3 stars for keeping him dry most of the time during the day (with multiple changes, 2-3 times between 7 AM - bedtime) but failing miserably by leaking almost every night out the back rise--and for causing me to see my dad's butt crack on a daily basis (an experience that, as his primary caregiver, hasn't exactly scarred me for life but that I could definitely have done without). As an alternative product for someone who is having leakage issues around the legs (based on two years of searching and trying product after product again and again as Dad's frame has dwindled) is the Abena Abri Flex Special Level 2 in size SM. We purchased this in April (and reviewed it on Amazon) and can tell from the fit and the reliability that we have a consistent long-term winner. Having been through so many options, we're convinced that it's as close to 100% as a pull-on underwear product will ever be for full absorbency and non-leakage for someone of his size (5'8" who went from 175 lbs to 148 lbs following his stroke) and conditions (daily diuretic plus side sleeper). This one consistently gets him through the day, usually only changing to a fresh pair once (typically after an afternoon nap) and then through the night almost all of the time--all without having to change his clothes or bed linens.Hope this helps!
