AFM/DFM Disabler Active Fuel Management Device AFM DFM Delete Compatible with V6 & V8 GM Motors AFM DFM DOD Disabler 5.3 Silverado

AFM/DFM is a critical component of many vehicles that have been manufactured in recent years to improve fuel efficiency and comply with stringent federal regulations. If your vehicle is well taken care of, most folks never have a problem. However, why not try to eliminate that problem before it becomes one. I have several vehicles with this feature that I have disabled using this plug-in tuner. I have had zero issues with any of the ones I have purchased. It eliminated a shutter I was having in one of my vehicles that was beginning caused by a torque converter slippage during the transition from 4 to 8 cylinders and back. In one of my other vehicles, I was beginning to have a lifter noise due to the lifter not wanting to immediately come out of 4-cylinder mode, so I connected one of these to prevent my vehicle from entering 4-cylinder mode again, which resolved the noise, and will ultimately delay the need to do a lifter job on that vehicle. This device is about as easy as it gets. Just plug it in and drive! Yes, you need to leave the device plugged in all the time when you are driving, but I have experienced no issues related to it draining my battery or anything. Yes, it does cause a parasitic draw on your battery as it has some blue LED lights, but not enough to cause a problem, unless your battery already has a problem. The best part of connecting one of these devices is that you feel like you get the power of your vehicle back, as you are robbed of power every time it switches down to 4-cylinder mode. Once it is connected to your vehicle you will immediately feel the responsiveness increase. This is a great way to increase the longevity of your vehicle motor, and I highly recommend it.

Bought this for my 2017 Silverado with the 5.3 AFM engine. I had a stumble issue and CEL before buying this disabler. I'd get it almost every drive in my truck. Plugged this disabler in on a 275 mile trip , noticed a difference right away. No CEL for the duration of the drive and no stumble issue. I recommend this to anyone with similar issues. Wish I would've bought one sooner. My only complaint is it does pull battery if you leave it plugged in while engine is not on.

Product has worked well for me since installing it two years ago. I’ve been warned that some of the cheaper ones can harm the vehicle, but this one seems to be the middle of the road golden ticket, as it’s given me zero issues. Makes for a much smoother driving experience, and some peace of mind for my valve train and transmission since my truck doesn’t feel like it has bootleg vtech anymore! I also recommend modifying your exhaust valve/flapper which would normally open and close when switching between 4/8 cylinder operation. I just held it open and cranked down a large enough hose clamp to hold it in place. Without doing this you might hear it opening and closing every time you are on and off the gas. Especially with any kind of muffler delete

Noticed gas mileage decrease so it must be working also my usually engine light has gone off

WORKS GREAT…BE SURE TO UNPLUG PRIOR TO YEARLY INSPECTION. Been using it for over a year now and have no complaints. It does exactly what it says it does and well. I did just fail an inspection and could not for the life of me figure out what was going on with my vehicle. It’s relatively new and has never had problems. Turns out, it was this device which was causing a few of the “readiness monitors” to show as not ready which will cause you to fail inspection. Just be sure to unplug a day or two prior to getting an inspection.

This one works….. I had an injector replaced… the check engine light came on… run injector cleaner and all … check engine light kept coming on ….. bought this one because it said AM/DFM …. That way I didn’t have to worry about which one I had ….. plugged it in and it went right to work … stayed in V8 and no more check engine light …… Thank so much for a great product ….

bought this product in 2024 worked fine until it died just recently in July 2026, I am going to replace but not this product because its only good for 2-years

I bought this dabler for my 2014 gmc sierra with a 5.3l v8. So far it works great! the truck is now shifting smoother because its not having to shift due to afm kivking on or off, and certainly saves wear and dear on the torque converter this way. my gas milage has decreased slightly on the highway as expected, but not ebough to really be an issue(i.e 11.5 liters per 100 kms instead of 10.9 l per 100 km difference), but i've noticed something else. my gas milage in-town has vastly improved. The one thing i will warn you as i found out the hard way a couple nights ago in our -40 cold snap in Alberta, you must unplug this module when it gets down below -30 celcius, or it may wreck the module and kill your battery in the process. luckily after mine warmed up for 24 hours, it is working again.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to, no more lag when stepping on the throttle, yes fuel mileage has increased but that was expected and it’s not a drastic amount, have been running it for a week now and zero issues. This is on a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. Very happy with the purchase. Hope this helps!
