Great product
My 2013 gmc yukon xl 1500 5.3l has had a rough idle with slight miss for sometime now and all the codes point to emissions. Endless trial and error and constant check engine light with no success. Plugged this thing in and no check engine light for about 5 months or so and smooth clean idle and noticeable increase in fuel mileage. Hitting on all 8 at all times and more throttle response. And this product hasn't drained the battery ever and I've left it plugged in and never have pulled it off. I've even left the car for 3 days without being driven and fired right up. No bs great product especially for the reasonable price

It works perfectly with no flaw
Bought this 3 years ago when i purchased a used 2014 GMC Sierra. has worked flawlessly with no issues whatsoever 10k miles later. Just traded the gmc in on a 2021 chevy and forgot to take it off the truck, i called the dealership to get it back to use on my 2021. its worth the hour round trip to go get it back!

Works great
Works as advertised. Keeps my 5.3L in V8 mode at all times. I never liked having the motor transition back forth. My daughter had a Chevy Malibu that would stop running at a stop and start up when she pressed the accelerator. Thanks EPA.

After ordering and purchasing my new 2016 5.3 Silverado it began having issues with the AFM system. The truck became unbearable to drive as it would constantly be bogging itself down while driving and dropping and then adding cylinders. Chevrolet said it was supposed to be "seamless" and you would hardly notice it while switching from 8 to 4 cylinders and back and forth. Nothing further from the truth ! I was so Irritated with this system that I was ready to get rid of the truck. Then a mechanic friend told me about the AFM Disabler. As a last resort I purchased and Installed it. What a difference it's made in the drivability of my truck now ! Just plug it into the computer module under the dash and go. That Simple ! My truck now seems to have better acceleration, NO bogging down, and shifts through the gears much smoother .. and DOES NOT allow the Back and Forth cutting of cylinders like the AFM did. Gas mileage has stayed about the same (It's a truck) which was another plus for this little unit. I had heard though, that if you leave it plugged in for an extended period of time it could run your battery down. I've never done that, so I can't really comment on it. However, this disabler has saved me from getting rid of my truck (because of the AFM) and let's me enjoy the power of a V8 truck (the way it's supposed to be).

No instruction sheet. Made in China.
4 LED lights. No documentation on what the meaning of the light codes represent. As I write this, I am riding as a passenger in my 2013 Silverado. The motor sounds better/smoother to my ear. Background: just last month our engine catastrophically shelled out 60 miles from home. The tow truck driver gave me an education about these Chevy engines and their history of failure and why. $5 grand later my truck has a transplant from a junk yard. And this chip. When I sell this truck, I won't be buying another Chevy. I should have got a clue when I saw the dinky oil filter on this truck. My JD lawn mower has a bigger filter. Such 'planned obsolescence' hubris in Chevy's business model. As far as I can tell, this band aid works as advertised. Like other reviewers, I find it weird that the manufacturers can't design a circuit that can detect engine start and stop and shut itself down far enough to not pull down the battery while the engine is off. Seriously. How much design and engineering would it take to partition off the power draining portion of the circuit? UPDATE: months later: I notice that from a cold start up, with the module unplugged, there is a definite "tick, tick, tick" sound. So I stopped the truck halfway up my driveway and installed the module. No more tick. That says something as well. This is definitely plug and play.

Seems to be working. MNPG went up added bonus.
East to install just plug in. Blue lights light up when the Truck is running. Seems to be working well without a trailer I'm getting about 20.9 MPG. Was getting about 17 before. But I bought it to keep Chevy Silverado 1500 truck from going into the 4 cylinder mode. Per multiple mechanics from Chevy dealers that is what causes the engine to get starved of oil & what causes the the upper tubes in the intake manifold to fail resulting in the whole upper part of my truck to fail at 36000 miles. Seems to be working & the extra MPG is a plus. Time will tell. mine doesn't seem to have a battery drain problem others mentioned.I've had this in my car since September. seems to be working well. no issues with battery drain mentioned by some. Was out of town for a week & the Truck just sat idle. It started right up when I got back. There are blue lights that show its working, no idea if the lights show anything else.

Must buy!! Gets rid of the AFM! Truck drives so much better!
This is a must buy!!! Works like a charm! I own a 2016 Silverado, since I’ve had the vehicle it’s hasn’t really been driving that great there was a massive lull in acceleration due to the AFM System. I was also burning through coil packs and spark plugs because of the AFM as well. I ordered this product and now my truck drives like a truck it stays in V8, it is driving beautifully. It has an increase in power and performance it’s a must buy if you own a vehicle with the AFM system in it. I am very happy with my purchase and my truck is actually getting better gas mileage now as well which I’m kind of surprised. This product seems to be working very well and I’m very happy and I’m sure it’s now going to save me a lot of money due to the less wear on the engine from switching to V4 to V8. It’s a must have for any Chevy vehicle with the AFM system in it. If you want to save money and keep the health of your vehicle buy this product, it works!!
