What an amazing tool to have if you have to work in the field with your laptop. I really like the protective feet which keep the unit from scratching any surface you attach it to. Very high quality product.

Purchased this for work after seeing co-workers utilizing these for running diagnostics and doing startups on RTUs. Keeps your laptop out of the sun by giving you options on where to mount on the machine. Also helps in securing a laptop to keep it from getting knocked off a unit. There's rarely a shelf for a laptop on a RTU, and this fits the bill. Worth the money. Very strong magnets.

As a PLC technician, I always wanted a table while on the road, working on industrial machines. This is exactly what I always wanted. Its so simple I kick myself every time I use it "why didn't I think of that!" Fits in a travel toolbox easily when its folded. Its well built, and if you think you are going to use it, get it. My only warning is you'll be imagining instead of programming machines you would have come up with this idea first.

Very well built and sturdy. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the hinge mechanism operates similar to a soft-close drawer so it does not slam open. The magnets attached securely and I have no fear of my laptop falling. I attach mine to electrical enclosures, thick sheet metal , and it works great every time. I would recommend getting the magnet covers so that you don't leave marks on the surface you attach it to. The carrying case is a nice addition. One of my co-workers has the other brand, the black plastic one, and it is not nearly as well built and feels flimsy.

Update.... In a rooftop hvac unit these magnets stick great. I'm guessing the texture of my frig keeps it from sealing tightly. If it were lighter and a little more narrow it would fit in a 5gal bucket for carrying computer and tools at same time. I think after it's out of warranty I'll drill some holes in it and possibly scroll saw it up nicely to remove a little weight a D bulk because it's built extremely durable. Barely holds itself to my refrigerator without sliding down, no way it will hold a laptop as well. Maybe I got a cheap one with inferior magnets or maybe the metal on my refrigerator is more slippery than other metal surfaces. Ya think?

The ability to have a mobile workstation in the field pays for itself. I would recommend for any field tech who needs a little space to set their laptop on when there’s not one available. Good strong magnets. Works best on non-textured services like an electrical panel or metal enclosure.

It took me a few months of looking at this before I pulled the trigger and bought it. As a Field Service Engineer, I spend a lot of time on my backside on a concrete floor, laptop on my lap, trying to do my job. As an aging Field Service Engineer, it's getting harder to get down on my backside, on a concrete floor, and harder to get back up. This, coupled with a collapsing stool (one of the round ones), fits in my laptop bag. It means no more struggling to get down, and struggling to get back up. If I lost this, I'd buy it again

It's a gem. Works as anticipated. Make sure your carful removing it from a mount with valuables on the tray. I recommend you remove the items on the tray before you remove it from the magnetised panel. It’s best removed starting to pivoting it off from the bottom. The only negative is the price but considering the build quality, breathe in. A colleague made one himself but nowhere as good but a similar price to make but more if you consider the time to manufacture.
