Pro: materials are good quality for outdoor purposes. The wire says 12 gauge but is actually 10 gauge aluminum wire. That is the same as 12 gauge copper. It’s just more fragile and the terminals have to be larger. I’m using it for a swimming pool put. Works great

The outer sheath is exactly 7/16" making that part perfect for a charging cable for an EZ GO golfcart charger cable replacement and fit fine in the replacement D handle plug. This cable IS 10 ga, but it looks like 12 ga because of how the end is cut when you get it. Being that it is tinned copper wire and NOT copper coated aluminum, It worked just fine. It is flexible enough and I wanted to use as heavy & thick a cable as possible with the biggest gauge wire. The bigger the gauge wire, the less resistance. I used this to make a new golf cart charging cable and it worked perfectly. You Definitely need to be careful stripping it to not cut the inner wire sheathing. I didn't need 10', but bought 10' realizing from the picture that IS accurate, that stripping it could be more difficult than normal with a singular thin outer sheath. I couldn't find 8 ga in a single sheath that would work for any reasonable price, ergo this was my best choice to repair/replace an EZGO charging cable. My old cable was 10 ga. New replacement cables you can buy are 12 ga. I also got new a D end handle and Recepticle because the older D style had a slot built into the plug to keep you from plugging it in wrong and my D handle plug and recepticle were pretty old and due to be replaced. I used thicker tinned copper lugs on each end I found on Amazon and now have a really better than I can buy new complete cable that should last. It cost more than a new ready made cable available, BUT I wanted one that would last AND be easy to install in new ends should I require then in the future.

This worked perfectly. The outside diameter was as described and fit perfectly with my ip67 cable connector for a waterproof fit.

This is some really nice, thick-stranded and tinned heavy-duty wire with an impressive protective jacket. Most of the time in automotive applications I feel compelled to run wires in plastic protective loom but for once I think I have found some wire that is up to the task of withstanding a harsh environment, the jacket on these wires is thick and durable. Perfect for running some small amps and radio equipment that has a fair bit of amperage draw, or some 150+ watt lights, etc. A small inverter would probably work well with this too. I would trust this wire if it were zip-tied along the bottom of my car to get power from the battery up front for my electronics in the back. Definitely recommend.

Excellent product! Absolute quality. Just be careful when stripping the main jacket off, as it is molded to the shape of the wires inside, so very tight. if you cut too deep, you will cut the actual wire jackets. Take your time with the outer one. Once you got that figured out, there will be no corrosion because of that jacket.
