Great value! 18 months later no issues! Transfer speeds are about 800MB/s on average for me.
I have owned this for over 18 months and felt it's time to leave a long term review.I would give this a 4.5 just because the cords are short, and getting a longer, high through-put cable isn't exactly cheap. But still, when you compare to other CF Express B card readers (especially back when I bought it in 2023) the value is great. I haven't had any issues with it. Read/transfer speeds are great, I get about 780 MegaBYTES/sec, which is plenty fast. (Especially compared to the fact I still have to use SD cards on my C70 and older cameras, but CF Express B are great) So if you use a camera that does 6K/8K RAW video or high-bitrate/high frame rate 60/120/180/240p etc. you'll need CF Express Type B, as some cameras have an SD slot and a CF Express B slot, but will limit your recording options with the SD Card option.NOTE: You MUST a cord that is capable of delivering this data rate. It comes with one, but if you do end up gettign a longer one, make sure it's rated at 10Gbps transfer or better. ALSO: use the correct USB port, I've seen people complain on several cords/card readers that were clearly hitting the ceiling of a USB 2.0 port, leading me to believe they were not using a higher USB port. You may have to check your motherboard manual to get a diagram on which ones are the faster ones like USB 3.2. If I recall I think this came with two cords: a USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A (traditional, square type USB plug-in).Hope this helps!

Simple, small, and effective card reader
This works great and feels well made, but 40+ bucks for a card reader? I appreciate the fact that the cable is removable - I HATE the devices with permanently attached cables because they all die due to cable fatigue. I can only complain about the high cost: -1 star for value.

Not working with SanDisk 512GB Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B - SDCFE-512G-GN4NN
Purchased to use with a SanDisk 512GB Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B - SDCFE-512G-GN4NN. The reader was tried on 2 different brand laptops. On both laptops the reader will show the card as available then after a couple of seconds the card disappears. The card will continue to appear as a storage device and disappear in a couple of seconds making it impossible to use the card. The card works as expected in the camera but not with this reader.

Better than another.
I bought a Unitek that was a CFast only card reader and my primary complaint was that the interface with the card wasn't very solid or click or has friction. You'd slide it in but there wasn't really any feel to it. Every other card reader I've ever owned had some kind of friction to indicate it was connected. If that makes sense. This thing has the feel that the other reader did not. Added bonus of having ports for basically every current format.

WASTE OF $$$
4/14 update: after corresponding with customer service about this issue, the issue still persisted even after troubleshooting and trying CS suggestions. I decided to try to connect with a different USB cord, and that apparently was the root cause of the issue. It looks like the reader is fine, but unfortunately it was shipped with a faulty USB cable. Now that I can finally use the reader as intended, I'll circle back after I've had some camera time and have some images to work with.I got this to use with the Apple OS, on both a iMac and a Macbook Air. I've tried to get both devices to recognize the device, with no luck. This manufacturer claims the reader works with 'all operating systems', yet several Apple OS users like myself have found that to be false. I've wasted hours troubleshooting, all to no avail.. Bottom line, this is a worthless piece of junk taking up space in my desk drawer now.

Has SD card slots and slots for camera cards
I like that it has a micro-SD card and an SD card slot. Newer computers don't have an SD card slot so this enables me to transfer whatever media I have to a USB-A capable machine.
