Must have for me
Is this an expensive item, yes. Does this improve the quality of sleep you get, YES. I was debating whether or not I should get this since it was a pricey purchase but decided to do it. I am so glad I did. I have ac and I've been waking up with my nose and throat super dry so I was hoping that this would help. It came in while my husband and I had a really bad cold, we were able to set it up quickly and even though we were sick we slept thru the night. Since we have gotten this we have been able to sleep thru the night and not wake up coughing. Personally it has even helped with my acid reflux at night due to my throat not being dry. I was afraid that it would make too much noise and prevent us from sleeping but the noise level is so minimal.

Massive improvements over the previous models.
I have the older KC860U and this KCP110UW. They both do a fantastic job of cleaning the air and humidifying. Some reviews complain about them not humidifying the air and I think that's because they may be used to cheap humidifiers that mist water all over the place. If you fill the tank up in these and the water disappears, it's obviously going into the air. The air filter system on both is well thought out and easy to maintain and clean. The largest difference with the newer models that sets them worlds apart is the humidifying system. The KC models have a side tank that feeds water into another plastic tray, that is then picked up by a much more complicated and harder to clean wicking filter. It works, and I've had it for a few years problem free, but it is such a pain to clean and I've noticed it picks up odors more than the newer unit. The new KCP units have a simple open top tank that slides out with a nice carry handle and a completely exposed wicking filter with no weird plastic shroud around it. You can easily slide the filter out of the tank for cleaning and it just makes the entire filling process a whole lot easier. The newer KCP unit also has wheels for easily moving. I think the design aesthetics are much cleaner. I like that the lights are hidden from view unless looking at it from above. I really think the engineers nailed it on all the improvements and I hope this design sticks for future models. The is the bees knees of air purifiers/humidifiers and makes a dramatic difference on our indoor air quality, especially in the dry winter months of Wyoming.

Air humidity / purifier is good but not excellent
The unit was very cumbersome to setup via Wi-Fi but eventually got it and it’s nice to monitor the air quality and humidity. The down sides are you cannot adjust up the humidity but just monitor, not a good thing. Also the water reservoir needs constantly monitored 2X daily to keep humidity constant. I use purified water from my fridge so the paper filter is not so stained during cleaning/flushing. The water reservoir is very tiny and constantly needs filled on the lowest settings. The positives are, its quiet, easy to setup, wireless monitoring is great and its stylish looking.

The filter gets stinky easy.
Humidifier function is VERY limited. At most it could maintain the humidity of a small room when hot AC is on. Also the filter gets stinky (you know, the kind of funky smell) even after weekly rinse in our case. You will have to do the full clean (dunk filter in citric acid water) every other week to prevent the stickiness from happening in real life. I would not recommend this one. Would rather go back their old model.

Amazing premium air purifier and humidifier
Allergies, dust and dropping humidity caused by our furnace was the main reasons to look into devices with both purifying and humidifying function. After couple of weeks of research, we decided to go with Sharp KCP70U for large homes and I have to say, we love it! It was surely an investment ($500 range) compare to other (cheaper) products, but nothing offered complex autonomous functions as this product. Delivery was much faster than expected. Product is relatively large, but very slick and design very appealing. It contains massive HEPA, carbon filter and water trey with filter. Assembly was easy (to remove plastic bags from filters) and we were ready to go. Wifi function is great, however setting that up was a bit of a challenge, however we just needed to follow instructions step by step. We were able to set up a schedule based on our schedule so we don’t waste energy when we are not at home. On auto mode with humidifying it takes about 5-7W. Only disappointment was its non compatibility with Alexa. Maybe in the future. On auto setting or sleep setting it’s very quiet. We barely notice it. It’s a pity we can’t set humidity to any level, it does that automatically, however we don’t need to think about humidity dropping under certain level, which is great. We would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a severe allergy. In combination with robotic vacuums, we don’t need to worry with excessive dust, pm2.5 particles and odor in our house. It’s definitely worth it.
