Looks better with the lights off
It is not very pretty looking when all of the lights are on in the room, but it definitely looks good when the other lights are off. The wrinkles in the fabric can more than likely be steamed out with a handheld steamer. But I would recommend doing that before installing the light shade. It's somewhat easy to build. The instructions were a little confusing but managed to do it. Setup of the app was simple and it was also easy to integrate with Google and Alexa. Works everytime you ask your voice assistant to turn it on or off. Or you can just setup routines through Google like I did. I set it to turn on every night at a certain time and to turn off at a set time. So I pretty much never have to use the voice commands or pull out the app, it does it on its own. There are many colors you can choose. It has a color wheel in the app so you can pick the exact shade of color you want. Every time it turns on or off it stays at the set color. The quality of the materials that it's made of is OK. It seems like it was inexpensively made, but it does the job, it does it well and the lamp was very affordable and has had zero issues so far so I'm not knocking a star off for that reason. I love it so much that I'm considering purchasing another one.

This is a lamp, not a full room light!
As a lamp (as opposed to full room lighting, it isn't bright enough for that), it is absolutely fantastic! I bought it on sale for about $60 after tax, and I couldn't be happier. The shade is super wrinkly, but it looks intentional when it's stretched out, and helps mask the frankly odd pseudo-fabric. It feels very waxy/plastic-y, and can not be washed (and probably should not be steamed, and DEFINITELY should NOT be ironed!). I wipe down the outside with a clean microfiber cloth, the inside I can reach most of easily with a microfiber dusting wand. Assembly was pretty simple, though stretching the top into place would have been easier with a second or taller person (I'm 5'3, I managed it on my own by holding it at an angle so I could see what I was doing, but having someone at the base to stabilize it at that angle would have made it much easier), and I did have a minor issue with one of the rods not slotting all the way into another, but it was far enough in that it was still stable and did not affect the rest of assembly, and is hidden by the shade. It took me a while to find the right method of syncing to wifi. The manual does say, but in an awkward spot which you may accidentally skip over since it's before the actual setup info. I didn't realize it came with a remote, but it has been great for my daily needs, since I mostly use it for different tones of white light depending on time of day, easily done via the remote without having to navigate through the app.The app itself is mostly decent, lighting patterns are nicely customizable, and I find it much easier to find the effects you want via the app than the remote (although there is a good selection available via the remote too), but it does occasionally freeze up for me. Nothing an app restart can't handle. Most of the lighting effects are very smooth, and for the ones that aren't, you can make very similar smoothed effects as custom modes elsewhere in the app. You do require an account to use the app, and you can technically use the lamp just fine without it, but you do lose quite a bit of the customization options by only using the remote. Haven't had any issues getting it to work with Google Home, either.

Obsessed with this color changing lamp!A great addition to any bedroom. The light has many different colors and functions and you can even change the brightness levels.Only complaint is the battery life on the remote seems to go pretty fast and you have to aim the remote on a specific spot for it to work.Other than that, it is a great lamp for relaxation and straight vibes.

LOVE IT!!!!! Relatively easy to assemble and set up remote. Love the brightness control. My eyes are extremely light sensitive so this is definitely a plus! The size is perfect and it looks great in the corner of our living room. The only thing I would change (especially if you have small children) is maybe a little larger base. Would definitely buy again!!!!!

Firmware buggy, light died after less than a year, zero response from manufacturer.
Out of the box these were great, I bought 2 of them (One flash sale and one normal price) and they served their purpose well initially. I was able to link them up to my home automation to have them turn on and off with a schedule. The light output and colors were great once configured. That's pretty much where the good stuff ends. Now the bad.The controller/wifi module would stop responding every couple of weeks or so, I'd come into the room in the morning and the lights would still be on. Well, one would be on. I'd unplug it to reset it and it would work for a while, then like clockwork the other would do the same thing. Every time. The interval that they would break wasn't random as when one would hang I knew the other was going to hang the next day. Annoying, but manageable. The app, specifically customizing the light colors/designs, is...hot garbage. If you stick with the pre-defined colors/scenes then it's fine, but if you try and customize them at all then just expect the lights to turn a single, random color and then it's a chore to get them back to normal. So, just use the presets.Again, these were manageable annoyances and I was happy with them overall for what I paid.Well, a few weeks ago I came into the room and one of the lights was flashing/strobing and dim. The controller wouldn't respond, unplugging it and letting it sit to try and get it to reset did nothing. I reached out to the company via Amazon to ask about the warranty and if a replacement would be covered since I'd only had the light for about 10 months when it failed. I got nothing but crickets and it's been at least 2 weeks. So, when you add all of this up I simply cannot recommend these lights and I would probably stay away from other Torchlet-branded products as well since the company has zero customer support and won't respond to warranty inquiries.
