Accurate and Easy To Use!
This is an incredibly user-friendly glucose monitor. It is also very accurate; similar readings to what I get at the lab. Insert then test strip into the monitor to turn it on, and put the test strip against the drop of blood on your finger to take the sample; the blood gets sucked up into the test strip's window automatically. I also love that this glucose monitor comes with a charger so you don't need to buy separate batteries for it. The test strips for this glucose monitor are affordable; so are the lancets. Some Tips:- If you have thick skin, use the highest level prick (level 5) on the lancing device pen.- As a first time glucose monitor user, I learned that you will have a certain finger that will produce enough blood sample for testing upon pricking it - you just have to do trial and error to figure out which finger that is. Producing enough blood sample for testing is a challenge for anyone with thick skin on their fingers.

HIGH QUALITY UNIT Made in Japan
I am not a diabetic, but need to monitor blood sugar for a while. It was pure luck I found this QUALITY UNIT with all the junk out there being sold. This is MADE IN JAPAN--Japan made products are always of the highest quality. (I now have a new understanding and empathy for the discomfort diabetics go thru pricking their fingers all day for testing.)-The batteries were included.-The quick start guide was easy; simply take your time to read through it to set date/time, etc.-Once you slip the test strip in the unit, the unit automatically turns on.-The unit gives you the opportunity to identify if you are fasting, before meal, or after meal, or none, for each test.-As soon as you put the blood on the strip, then a little clock timer comes on the screen for a few seconds, then the reading shows up.-I can't really feel the prick with that little poker/lancet device. The person who invented that device should be given an award. It would be impossible to keep self-pricking fingers.-The unit will ask for more blood if needed--you have 30 seconds to add more--while the strip is in the unit-THE KEY WITH THE TEST STRIP IS: There is a tiny rectangular shaped gray area on the bottom of the test strip, and if you place the end of the test strip to touch your drop of blood, that little gray rectangle will pull in your blood like a magnet. So once your little drop of blood is on your skin, just move the end of the test strip into the drop, and you'll see that little gray section just pull in the blood like a magnet.-The larger User Guide is high quality, impressively structured and well written, and all of it is in English. One can perceive this is a professional unit, professionally designed, and this manufacturer just didn't mess around or compromise on quality. I give this unit 10 Stars!

Fairly Simple to Use, but Wish Results Were Displayed Longer
This is fairly simple to use. I'm not diabetic but like to monitor my blood glucose levels to see how different foods affect me. I don't think selecting "fasting", "before meal", "after meal" are really of any benefit. I do think being able to retrieve all results would be much more helpful without having to hookup to a computer or phone...I just don't like going through that much hassle. As far as being able to use other sites other than fingertips...well good luck with that! I certainly can't access a significant amount of blood to test using any other area, at least not without increasing the needle puncture to a deeper depth of penetration. All in all it's an affordable glucose monitor with a reasonable cost for their glucose test strips. The little black bag that comes with it is very flimsy. The booklet is decent as to info on function. I've been using it several months now...giving it a letter grade it'd be a "B-" vs "C+", depending on what's important to you.

Oustanding & Accurate!
First of all, the meter is extremely easy to set up! It comes with everything you need to get started and the price is incredible for any of the 3 options. I chose the cheaper one in case I had to return it. My Precision Neo went bad and I needed a replacement so I purchased this one. I never had a problem with the accuracy with the Precision Neo.My daughter gave me a True Metrix Air. I used it or 3 days but I knew from my past readings it was reading higher than my glucose was. My body is very sensitive when my blood sugar goes below the best level. I am overcoming hypoglycemia. The True Metrix was reading 10-12 higher, though it may be in an acceptable range, it is not the best accuracy for me.I used this right away and did 2 tests which were within 1 point and I knew the reading was correct based on the symptoms I began to have. This meter also only requires a small amount of blood! I have great confidence that my readings will be accurate with the new Contour Next monitor. The strips are a little more but the accuracy of the reading is worth it!Buy with confidence. Don't waste your money on cheaper models or models with less expensive strips because it will cost you in the long run!
