I bought this for my wife since the manual staple gun is quite difficult for her. She's reupholstering chairs. Upon arrival, I tested it on a flat piece of wood. Staples penetrated just fine & evenly, with no problems. She tried learning how to use it on the same piece of wood, again no real problems although I found it not to be rapid or quick firing due to the safety mechanism, which requires a fair amount of finesse before firing. If you're looking for quick fire capability, this isn't it in my opinion.Starting her reupholstering, she's finding as did I that staple penetration is quite randomly hit or miss in terms of uniform or even staple penetration in that a number of staples (double digits) will be quite problematic in a row & then a smaller number will penetrate absolutely just fine. Unfortunately, we've ended up pulling out far more staples to restaple then we've actually stapled successfully one time.I have compared the results of this stapler to those of the hard manual stapler on same surfaces &, frankly, the manual stapler does a better job, unfortunately. Returning is a strong. consideration.As an addendum: about half of the included staples wouldn't be usable since they were completely flat, that is, not staples.

This will be a good addition to our toil collection.

cant hold a full clip of staples, doesn't have the power drive the larger size staples through white pine mind you, but does fine with nails. and misfires a lot.
