Beautiful controller!
Oh my goodness, I am in love with this controller! I'm very new to DJing and this is my first controller that I've purchased. A lot of my friends are DJs so I've had a lot of input about different brands. Everyone has their preferances and that makes it hard to decide what to buy. I decided to buy the DDJ-SR2 because I've researched in general Pioneer controllers are reliable and sturdy, I don't necessarily need a 4 channel mixer right now because a lot of my more experienced friends have them and I can just hook up to their controllers, it's small and compact (I'm a small person with small hands), and it has a lot of features that are a step up from beginner controllers, but also not super confusing if you are a beginner. Since having it, I'll have to say it's very beautiful and smooth. I feel very lucky every time I play it. I particularly like the colors of the lights, hotcue/roll/slicer pads, and the metal cue and play/pause buttons because I feel more connected to the best when I can hear/feel it click. There are a few downsides about it that don't necessarily bother me right now and that is the pitch faders are very small and because of that it makes it hard to be exact with the bpm in a timely manner. The jog wheels are definitely weird to scratch on. I'm new to scratching, but it just doesn't feel right, I'm not sure how to explain it, I think the wheels feel tight maybe, but I'm not sure. All in all, this is an awesome controller and I can't wait to use it more professionally and show/share it to all my DJ friends! It also came with Serato Pro, and I purchased a warranty plan and a Pro-X road case separate, which I highly recommend to protect this investment!(I'm also using a 2018 MacBook Air with 8gb ram, and Serato Pro runs extremely smooth)

Awesome Intermediate Controller.
Absolutely love this controller. Great for beginners and intermediate DJs. I have had it for almost a month and I really enjoy the pro features and Serato integration. It has already paid for itself with my gigs. Whether you are a studio DJ, music producer, or a Live DJ and you dont want to spend 2000 dollars but you want something a little more professional than an entry level controller. This is perfect mid price range controller that feels like a mini SRT1000. The workflow is smooth and natural and it is a board that will grow with you as you gain more experience. It can make a beginner dj look like a seasoned pro. While even the seasoned pro would be more than satisfied with the features built in. Like many others have already stated. The one downside is the small, touchy, tempo faders. Not a big deal but in a pinch, the more novice DJs will find it a little easier to use the SYNC button to match beats precisely. I still use the tempo fader to get to the tempo I need as fast as possible and then I use sync if the fader misses the mark by a decimal or so. Only other DJs will scoff at this...the average listener will never know the difference.

Great DJ Controller for Intermediate DJ's
This controller is great for intermediates or simple gigs. I use mine for frat parties and bars, and it does everything I would need a controller to do. It arrived brand new, and the packaging was clean and damage-free, and all the components were included. If you're looking for a higher-end beginner controller, this is the right one for you.Just make sure to use Serato (which is the superior software) with it instead of rekordbox.

Coming from a Numark Mixtrack to this is like going from a Honda to a BMW.
This is nice. It's about as close as one can get to actual CDJs and a mixer without buying 2 CDJs and a mixer. The jog wheels aren't quite as smooth as on CDJs but at half the cost of a single CDJ, I can't really complain. It does what it is supposed to do but if you require doing spin backs with pinpoint accuracy in your sets then this might not be the one for you. Otherwise it's great and a major step up from what I was using. All products compared in this review are Pioneer products unless otherwise stated.

Stable and much more powerful now
As a former owner of the original SR, I clearly see the difference in power and updated firmware, and new features! I have been a pro club DJ for quite some time and the Pioneer controllers have always been my go to requested units. They’re built well with excellent sound cards. I had to switch out my original controller as the sound wasn’t good for larger speakers and was actually popping the speaker. The newer SR unit sounds crisp and has lots of power if needed. The XLR jacks are a much needed upgrade for balanced sound. All the other features are pretty basic and the same give or take. Colored buttons, and now power adapter included helps give the controller a much needed boost. I also love the option to connect turntables (but you must buy the software)Negatives: Well it is certainly a small controller, they claim platters are larger, I really can’t tell the difference, on the right side of controller the cue and play button still gets pressed by accident with my large hands when cross fading. I absolutely hate when that happens as it will stop the music. So careful if you’re recording something. I feel that the right side cue and play buttons should’ve been moved over more. It also doesn’t come with Serato DJ pro software, it comes with pitch and play. I much have rather had the pro software to be able to connect on all mixers at night clubs.Overall the controller is great for the money, if you are a serious DJ you would know the cost of a unit like this is very cheap compared to buying full CDJs or even a regular mixer with turntables. This is the perfect travel size for any DJ that has a gig, and yes it can be used at a lounge or nightclub, all the effects and features are where I expect them to be and absolutely love the added power, I just feel they skimped out of the certain software that should come included.

It's the bees knees!
5 stars no questions. Credit goes to Pioneer not Amazon! Pioneer knew what they were doing! Great setup! I love mine! I paid $750 for mine, brand new out the box! Best 750 I've ever spent on music equipment.
