Dec 5, 2018 I bought this as a xmas gift, so the actual use of it I can not review. The packaging is very classy, sturdy cardboard canister, nicely decorated with a map. I did pull the map out and it's a nice thick quality paper , and from what I can see of the rolled map, the gold is intact ready to be scratched off once a destination has been met. The map area that is revealed looks amazingly detailed, and has an authentic look to it.

I LOVE this scratch off map. I first ordered the #1 seller on Amazon scratch off map (the one with over 750 reviews, you've seen it) and, honestly, was a little disappointed with the lack of detail and the "empty space" of the oceans. This map utilizes all of that free area to zoom in on the European countries, Mexico and Central America, and even both of the Poles.It also comes with a metal guitar pick to scratch off the countries, pins to mark cities, and ALL of the world's flags on a separate scratch off (up to date, as far as I know).It is big (I included some pics of my cat for scale). To get it (35*25) to fit in a 36*24 frame, I trimmed the border off the top and bottom. Nothing important missing! Then, to fill in the white space of the sides, I used black electrical tape to match the frame. I love the look!I am so excited to mark my travels over the years. HIGHLY recommended

...Due to the lamination on it (which is a good feature if you want to use the dry erase) it's EXTREMELY difficult to scratch off. We were being as careful as possible, but in a couple of areas we accidentally scratched through the paper trying to get through the lamination. Definitely disappointed about that, but otherwise we love the idea of this and are happy with it.

I love it! Don’t look further and order this map! I read review after review of other scratchable maps before deciding on this one and I’m extremely happy I went with this one. The quality is great, it includes a side sheet with the country flags which was nice as well and it bring pins, a scratchy tool, cloth, and stickers. I got it framed at Hobby Lobby and it cost me more than the map itself but it came out so good that I don’t even care!

Map is beautiful and high laminated quality!I mounted it on a piece of canvas on a frame and used upholstery tacks!Looks great. Takes some time to scratch off the gold on map (I have traveled a lot including Russia and China) but feel just initial start up of past travel. Should be fine to do as I add future travels. Love the old world look! Map detail is excellent as well!

When the map first arrived, I was very pleased. There were cute stickers and lots of little unexpected things like a scratch-off flag page. But, this was of little consolation once I attempted to reveal the places I had been. The tool that was included completely scraped the lamination away from the map. The gold does not scratch off easily with your fingernail either. You have to really apply friction which inevitably leaves gouges and streaking. As another reviewer said, a penny works best but it does a cruddy job. The map is very detailed underneath the gold foil but the scraping required left the map unreadable in places. It is very disappointing because I loved the style of the map in the pictures. I bought my son a different brand map and it works so much better. I would not recommend this product unless you choose to leave the gold on and use pins.

Decent travel record map. I expected the scratch off and printing to be a bit better than a lotto ticket. It’s easy to scratch the map itself when uncovering locations. It needs to be on a perfectly smooth surface (mdf, glass) any texture makes it difficult to use and the scraper they supply ( metal guitar pick) is a nice touch but much to sharp for this function. Use something plastic, round and thick with eased edges. No sarcasm, other than that it was nicer than I expected and a great presentation in packaging.

Beautiful big map. I was worried with it being a scratch off map that the scratch off stuff would flake off easily or have crease lines. Happily that is NOT the case. We rolled and unrolled it several times while trying to find the best shadow box for it. The dry erase feature of the map is an added bonus, as we are able to highlight our next scratch off region. Great map for cruisers.

El material al rascarle es poco amigable, si le rascas fuerte rompes el fondo si le rascas leve no se cae . No es cómodo al descubrir zonas. Le falta más detalle al mapa .

The product was as advertised and is good quality.

Great product, but if you want to have it mounted , it may take a professional to do it properly. Love the scratch off areas as they actually show terrain and country, not just a color. Comes with stick pins too!Am going to be gifting another one soon!
