Girls Auto Clinic Glove Box Guide Paperback – September 19, 2017

This is a great book if you were never guided about maintenance of your vehicle. Easy to understand and helpful. I was able to diagnose an issue before taking my vehicle into the shop. This made it easier to explain what my car was doing as well. As a woman, this made me feel confident when speaking to the mechanic and having been ripped off in the past, I know if I’d had this knowledge back then, I wouldn’t have been. I hate to say I was someone who at one time blew up an engine because of lack of maintenance. That won’t happen again, I have an older car and now I see issues before they become expensive. Can’t recommend this enough as a gift for the ladies in your life too, this would be great for a teen driver to start them off with this knowledge from the get go.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book. It starts out simple and then gets a little bit more detailed as you go along. I am starting to understand a lot more than I ever thought I would with cars and can have a general conversation about parts. I highly recommend this to anyone, man or woman, that wants to learn more and would be great to keep in your car. I think this would be a phenomenal gift especially for teenagers learning to drive or even for kids going to college. Everyone should have a base knowledge about cars and this is such a great book to get you to that point. Again, those with XY chromosomes can and should read this book as well if they do not know a lot about cars.

This is a great book for ANY woman, experienced with cars or mechanical work or not. Well written in simple English, no confusing or intimidating language. If you ever wanted to understand you car and no man in your life could help, this is the book to buy. It's more than "how to fill your radiator and windshield fluid." It's serious stuff about things women need to know. I have worked on my car for 20+ years and still learned a lot. It now lives in my glove box. If you're a woman, or a man even, and you want something light, but helpful, this is the book to buy. Every parent should buy one for their teen-aged daughter.

Given as gift

I definitely was an auto airhead. I knew to get my oil changed on time and replace my tires in pairs but that's about it. Patrice is brilliant and funny and an engaging author. After reading this book I feel more prepared to take car of my investment, I just hope my uneducated ways before haven't caused permanent damage. I already recommended the book to several other ladies including my 16 year old cousin. I've got some family near her shop and I look forward to taking my baby to Patrice for her 100k checkup and getting my nails done while I wait

This book is really a beginners guide to learning your automobile. It's a no judgment lesson in the basic mechanics/electronics of how cars work and does a great job of explaining why what you THINK you know about your vehicle may or may not be correct. Recommended for anyone who owns a vehicle and a great read for teenagers who are just starting to drive all the way to older folks who've had cars for years but have just depended on others for their car maintenance. This book can not only save you money but will most certainly give you piece of mind.

I absolutely love this book. All of the men in my life seemed to have absorbed knowledge about cars from the air. In reality, it was probably from their fathers, but my dad never saw to talk to me about cars. (Or screwdrivers) Despite my education, I was never sure what I was agreeing to for maintenance and I hated it.This book is divided into the major car sections with information about each. There is also a checklist about how parts break, when and about how much they cost.This book is a Christmas gift for my daughters, my niece, and my sister-in-law. It's worth it.

This book is excellent, specially for women, who want to have a basic understanding of auto mechanics. The writing is sort of in conversational form and the explanation is very clear. It covers the what, the why, the maintenance schedules, the common issues ,the repairs involved, and the approximate cost. A great reference book before taking your car to the shop or dealership for repair. First book of this kind that I truly like!
