Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone

I just got my first couple hours out of this mic, and I gotta say the audio quality is superb for the price point. I haven’t owned a microphone before that’s sounded nearly as good, especially out of the box without any post-processing. Setup is also really simple, just plug it in through USB or through USB-C with the included adapter, and then optionally plug a pair of headphones into the mic to passthrough sound and mic playback. The mic is also RGB lit and reacts to if it’s muted or not, which adds to the aesthetic if that’s important to you, and has a small touch-based button to mute/unmute. It’s a great piece of hardware from the time I spent with it but if anything changes I’ll come back to this review.

Been using on my windows PC for a while now and I love it. Sound quality is great. USB makes it so easy to use.

The microphone has a solid quality to it. Sound quality is fine but I would say the microphone is a bit too sensitive which is normal and can be adjusted if you buy an amp for the microphone or use virtual software to control the microphone. There is no exact volume control for the microphone that will control how loud you sound when you speak into the microphone. The volume control on the microphone is only used for voice monitoring if you're trying to hear how you sound coming through the microphone. I would say the microphone is a solid pickup, but do consider the "extra" work you'll have to put in if you're looking for a quick plug-and-play microphone.

Great sounding mic! I'm a professional engineer and my son wanted a mic to do some recording with. After hours of research I landed on this mic. The price point was great and so were the reviews. I was not disappointed. The audio quality is perfect for vocals as well as recording an instrument. I was happy to find out that it also worked with his Android tablet. It sees it as an audio interface, so all audio I/O goes through the mic (since it has a headphone output). I highly recommend this mic for a lower end mic.

Great mic, can't go wrong, but I really wish there was a law that required any device with an LED to come with a switch to turn off the LED.

Solid built quality with a heavy feel and a very nice desk top stand This thing is beautifully made. I just plugged it and it works. Nothing else to install. In addition I also plugged in my headphones to listen to the playback. Ok it can pick up some outside sounds like a leaf blower going on outside my house or rustles around you but as long as your recording room is very quiet this microphone works very well without having to spend huge amount of money. I am this using for video voiceovers on with Cyberlink video editing software. . It works with virtually an program. I even used my NCH Voxal Voice changer software with this and it works beautifully. I have to see if it can be made to work with my iPad also, but I am told I would need a powered USB hub for that as this needs power to work and the iPad does not have enough power. I am so happy I am going to go look at what else they have.

I wanted a microphone for YouTube videos that I narrate for motorcycle vacations, and I’ve tried a couple others. This one by far captures the best song quality. I have the arm coming in a couple days, but the stand that comes with it and the quality of the audio is incredible. I am very happy with this purchase. If you were on the fence for a microphone order, this one you will not be disappointed.
