Solid Solar Lantern - Charges Quickly and Easily
Brought this solar camping lantern on a hiking trip and it worked extremely well. Regarding the charge/solar panel, we hiked through trails completely covered by trees, and the lantern went from no charge to fully charged by simply hanging it on my bag. Additionally, the usb port can really come in handy as a source of charging cell phones, cameras, etc. Would highly recommend.

Great Little Light
I have to admit I was a little skeptical of the product at first. It was smaller than I had pictured and wondered just how much light it would provide on my 10 day trip. Well it performed much better than I expected. I sued it in an 19' RV and it provided plenty of light for me to easily move around. I only had to charge it once during the 10 day trip because I had parked in the shade and the solar panel didn't pick up enough sunlight. Not a big problem at all. It held up nicely, provides a good amount of light and stores very easily. I would recommend this product and will probably be buying a second one.

Maybe a 2 and 1/2 stars?
Really great idea but not up to the claims. One of the biggest design flaws is they are difficult to open. Anyone with arthritis or any hand injuries will have issues opening it. I know I did. Plastic accordian style "lantern" mode I can see failing after any real usage. Illumination was disappointing, more along the line of mid to lower grade flashlight. Charging with California desert winter sunshine. Seemed to charge phone alright if directly placed in the sun while charging. Not consistently tho as 1 worked better than the other. And 1 worked better than the other in giving a charge at night after charging all day. Also not consistent with holding a charge. 1 held a charge late into the night the other didn't. This desert camping trip was a trial run on different camping gear that will be donated to our local homeless. Lanterns will still be donated. This review is NOT to get free swag, so not worried about replacements. Just an honest review.

Great product worth every penny
I have bought two of these one because I lost this is a great product I had one for over a year and we're still working before it got lost I was why I brought the second the solar charging is awesome I think the product only went dead one time simply because I didn't leave it in the sun or charge it inside and you can plug it into the wall and charge it very rapidly great product!

Positive Reviewers NOT FULLY TESTING the product!
I see a lot of 5's but these users are plugging them in and then writing a review. The whole point of this lantern is the Solar panel - which is incredibly weak!Fair enough, the product description makes no claims toward the power of the solar panel BUT most of the reviews are not accurate. They're not draining the lantern and then testing the solar re-charge. I have on two of these.Might have gotten a defective one. I'm returning this one. Reason: It won't turn back on after drained from Solar alone. You must plug it in. AND this one was draining to empty even when it wasn't lit. So... again, probably defective but don't know how else to rate that and I have a feeling that quality control on this item is not very high so I expect a varied experience as I had with my second one that I ordered from Thorfire. At least it charges a little bit through solar.Concern is that there are several identical products with different logos/sellers right now, so I think they're all coming from the same source.I ordered a "Thorfire" lantern to replace this one and sure enough it is exactly the same to a "T" - except it mostly works as advertised. EXCEPT that the advertising is VERY vague. Yes it re-charges by solar but... over days. Entirely non-practical if you expect to use it to its fullest at night or as a power bank.

Small but mighty
My husband gave these to his instructors as camp school as thank-you gifts. They love them. We got one for at home as well and they really are bright and handy. I’ll get a couple more for pssible power outages. They are a great size and seem pretty sturdy.

Product was received promptly and just as described. Have used it as a light, a lantern and a battery source for my phone. Works great so far with no current complaints.
