This RC truck is much better than a $20 one at a generic store in a toy isle. I appreciate the two battery packs that are rechargeable and the parts that can be replaced if they break, it's not one molded piece of plastic that if it breaks, it's garbage. However, it doesn't appear that the parts are quite on the market yet for this specific model, so I've had to contact the manufacturer directly so far.The RC truck is great fun for my 7 year old, however he's now broken parts on it twice, once of course was a friend doing something they shouldn't have. So, I do say it is a bit on the fragile side for a 7 year old and may anticipate some of the pieces to break if the speed is all the way up and you're not observing.The customer support was cool about the first part breaking, they were able to confirm my order date and ship me a replacement. The unfortunate part was it was in China, so it took awhile.Great fun though, I've even had my hands on the remote a little bit and it's enjoyable for an adult. A good bonding experience for your kid and parent.

The videos attached to the product, with the same model number as on the box it came in, shows a nearly hobby grade rc truck that has proportional steering and throttle, and is 4 wheel drive. What came was a 2 wheel drive toy. Taking the body off does not give access to the internals, as is shown in the videos.I dont know if it's really false advertising, because the description never states it to have proportional steering, or that it was 2 or 4 wheel drive. So be aware, if you're going to buy the little tiny one, it isn't what the video reviews show them to be. I'd avoid any DEERC rc car, there are other cheap options.

I have been an RC car hobbyist since the late 90’s and wanted to get something for my 5yo nephew to play with. I got him the 1:20 scale 8600e on Black Friday for $36. I’m very satisfied with this purchase so far. It is a great into into hobby-grade RC and has a lot of features I was surprised to see at this price; 4wd, a real servo saver for steering, aluminum chassis bracing, motor heat sink, and lithium batteries. I particularly like that it has a knob on the remote to limit the top speed.The battery charger is the one item I have an issue with. There are 2x 1000mah 3.7v 1S2P 14500 packs included which is nice. The charger, however, is a small USB cable that takes about 3 hours to charge one battery. One battery will give 20-25 minutes of run time.There’s not much info out there about these batteries for the 1:20 8600e, but I found out they use the Molex 51005-2P connector. It’s the same one Losi used on their micro cars way back in the day. It is currently used by Syma on their X5C family of drones.I was able to find a 5 pack of Syma X5C/X5SW compatible 1200mah lipos with a 5 port charger that are compatible, but they are a VERY tight fit in the battery bay. There’s also 750-800mah X5C batteries that are smaller and will fit easier. You can find a 5 pack with a 5 port charger on here for under $20.Pretty much any 3.7v lipo smaller than 53x28x14mm with a 51005-2P connector will work if you need extra batteries.

I expected more power. It seems to fly around alright for speed but get bogged down in carpet and has issues backing up, I have to shift the steering and then pull backward to get it moving at a snails pace.I will say that the customer service was very helpful and fast in their responses. I will add a star for their efforts.
