not cheap, but well worth it
Makes perfect holes, with perfect recess, and made in USA. In the photo is a piece of hard maple that I drilled out for "crib" or "connector" bolts. I drilled the holes in the wood first, then I applied the stair tread tape, then I ran the drill bit IN REVERSE so it would not tear the tape. The tape does not have much of a shoulder, and I noticed it pulling when spinning in forward / clockwise motion. Holes came out so clean that it looks like factory work, and not something I completed in my kitchen.

Was using a brad tip bit prior but this is the way to go
had to plug some 1/2" screw holes in cedar. tried my brad point bit but it tore to much. this cut cleanly and made the plugs invisible. Sweet.

Cuts a smooth flat counter-bore. Easy to use with a battery drill or drill press. Perfect for use with #8 washer head screws.

Works perfectly. I would love however 1 more feature.
That hex adjustment is only to replace the drill. It would be awesome to be able to regulate the height of the stopper too. Anyway, works nicely.

WOW this tool has surprised me.
Very good quality. Excellent for countersinking #2 washer head screw. Plugs fit snuggly in countersink. After 1200 holes in plywood & approximately 700 holes in oak and 500 in maple the last hole is as clean as the first. Was going to buy a carbide counterbore but delivery/availability drove the purchase of this high speed tool counterbore. Got through the project and still works like new at a fraction of the cost of carbide. Have never ran a production project requiring this many counterbore holes before. My guess is this tool will get lost before it wears out. No justification for a hobby shop to require carbide.

Counterbore cutter not sharp
Everything is good except the counterbore tool was not sharp and was not cutting the fibers in the softer wood I was drilling, rather pushing them around. I sharpened it and it’s good now though.
