VCT VM 200 Deluxe Step Down Voltage Converter for Travel to 220V / 240V Countries - 200Watts

If you're looking to use a product that you bought in Amazon USA that only supports 110v and you want to use it in Israel which is 220v, this product is amazing, very simple to use, not so heavy, has an extender cable, and does not get too hot while using an electric product of 100W. The quality is fair for the price.

It was hard picking 110v to 220v voltage converter (also known as voltage transformer / step down converter). There are plenty of negative reviews and you don't know what to expect. I bought this product, and for me - it worked perfectly! Without a hitch. No overheating, no weird sound, no buzzing/hissing/humming or whatever. Zero problems. It is advertised that the maximum output is 200 watts so you shouldn't plug anything too powerful or bad things will happen. Every electronic device lists exactly how much watts it consumes so you can avoid accidents. The negative reviews are from people who plugged 1000w devices like a hair dryer, or electric kettle to a converter that is capable up to 200w.

Steps down like a champ... I took it to the UK to charge/use an recharble power drill that ran on 110v: it worked great.

It works great, however, very few electronics need one. Just check and see. Most electronics these days work 100-240v & 50-60hz. But if you have something that doesn't work on the higher voltages, this works great to step it down to 120. It's very heavy though.

The product arrived in a little cardboard box. The tape that would "seal" this box was already cut. When unpacked it I noticed that the brand logo was partly scratched off. I checked the item and it worked. However, I wasn't confident about the condition of the item. Apart from that it would too heavy to us it for traveling, at least in my point of view. Also, I figured the 200 watts are not too helpful - for most things 50 watts seems to be fine or you need more than 1500watts. I'll return it.

For MY purposes, it is perfect, but I don't expect it to handle 200 Watts. For your purposes, it may not be appropriate. Will it deliver 200 Watts? Maybe — for a little while. It might be rated at 200 Watts PEAK. It is too small for a continuous 200 Watt load and the plastic case is not ventilated. Probably, it would get very hot, smell bad, melt, and could catch fire. Based only on the weight, I estimate 60 Watts continuous would be OK.

This has worked so well that I ve bought 2 more. Depending on where you are going, you might need a wall adapter. For England, the cord needed an adapter.

A lot of static buzzing and hums caused by poor shielding of the transformer, not recommended if using it for audio products. Otherwise, works for its purpose.
