Great for medium chewers
My 16 week-old, 19 lb Australian cattle dog mutt loves this toy. He's not a destructive chewer (yet), but he does chew constantly, and this toy is holding up much better than cheaper off brand stuffed animal toys. It's not too big or heavy for him to carry around in his mouth, and he loves playing fetch with it as well as chewing it. Beware, though: once the pup learns how to make the toy squeak on his own, you'll never get a moment's quiet.Update: 7 weeks after getting this toy, my now 28lb puppy has destroyed it. He ripped it open and pulled the rope out. Now he's got two toys: the squirrel "skin" and the rope, and he loves both. He likes chewing on and playing fetch and tug with both. My puppy destroys other stuffed animal toys 24 to 48 hours after receiving them, pulling the stuffing out and eating it (which can be dangerous for him) or leaving it in bits all over the house. I love that this rope toy does not have stuffing inside, so even though he has ripped it open, I don't have to take it away and trash it. I still give this toy 5 stars, because it lasted so much longer than any other dog toy my pup has had. I'll be buying this toy again.

Not for heavy chewers.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Lasted less than 1 hour before my dog ripped the shell apart and ate the squeaker.

Survives my pit bulls playing tug of war.
The overall cuteness of the toy is lost relatively fast. It just gets a bit mangled. It has been inside out for most of the time we have had it BUT it is months later and it lives on still. I have two in fact. It has survived pitbull tug of war, hours of solitary nibbling and chewing. I think it started off with a squeaker maybe? If so that was gonna a while ago but they still love them.

Is it a safe toy for your dog?
the toy is very cute but not as sturdy as I had hoped. It arrived yesterday and I gave it to my medium sized dog to play with. He seemed to enjoy the squeaky noise in the head. the center body is firm and the tail is filled with something I can't identify. Anyway last night he chewed the head apart, chewed the squeaker into small plastic pieces which could not have been good for him. I have yet to find the actual squeaker. I am disappointed that the toy could be destroyed in such a short time. I have to find all the small red plastic pieces . There are no fur pieces in sight which makes me think he swallowed them. Not Healthy. Please do better making toys that could cause choking. Ps I did read everything about the toy in the description before I ordered it.

WHAT?!
The media could not be loaded. My 6 month old pup was excited for her new toy...but sadly it only lasted 3 days before the squeaker was squeezed out. On day 4, she ripped the head off and pulled out the dead squeaker and the rope. It is less mess...until she started ripping the rope to shreds...still on day 4...

Good quality
As with most Kong products, this is well made & durable. My medium size female apbt & large female pit mix enjoy playing with it.

Cheap
Laster 7 minutes before my 16 pound dog ripped the squeaker out of the head. THe middle part is about to be destroyed ten minutes later. Waste of money.
