Crochet Magical Creatures: 20 Easy Amigurumi Patterns

I have been a crocheter since a youth. I started learning to make wearables. That was my niche and what I loved to do. I realize that sometimes its quicker to sell a plushie vs a sweater or blanket. I purchased a doll pattern book thinking that will help me learn doll making. That book was not beginner friendly. So I gave up amigurumi. I noticed my sales were lacking and if I could just learn Amigurumi I could keep myself competitive in the market. This book is PERFECT for what I needed! Amigurumi was not fun for me. Now it is. Im almost finished with the 1st pattern and Im addicted! I love how quickly these patterns work up. There is a lot of counting but the patterns are easy to read and understand. I haven't completed the 1st pattern but Im already feeling 1000 times more confident in my skills. I’m so excited to make ALL of these cute lil patterns. If you are intimidated by amigurumi this book will help. February 2026 Updated Review: I am still loving this book and the patterns. I am still not that great at amigurumi but this book alone has helped me understand reading patterns, counting stitches and sewing. I learned the lark’s knot and Im still excited to make more magical creatures. I stand by my word; if you want to better your amigurumi skills get this book!

Cute projects with easy to follow instructions…great for kids that crochet or adults. Projects are easy to adjust to make new things as well. Our daughter used the yeti pattern to create a Big Foot.

Oh my gosh how adorable!! this book looks like so much fun i love the colors and how well it was written. it has a good variety of things to make with easy to understand directions. (and i have been crocheting for about 2 months). the beginning of the book instructs the reader how to make certain stitches with picture references which i thought was very helpful. i am just in love with my purchase

As a beginner crocheter, I was really looking forward to this book. The beginning of the book includes terminology to know, pictures of stitches used in the book, and how to assemble your amigurumi. The only thing I don’t care for it how there aren’t any step by step pictures. The wings are pretty difficult for a newbie and a lot of the animals have them. I would recommend maybe a QR code for future books where people can scan for video tutorials.

Got this for my daughter, who has been crocheting recently, for Christmas. She loves it. She says the steps are well explained and has already started 3 projects and is excited to make every project in this book.

I love these little amigurumis. Well explained and thoughtfully named which I think is adorable. Don't think it matters about keeping the same yarn weight and hook to the pattern specifications though. I did fine with smaller yarn and hook. Different colours work too. So many wonderful options. I'm a happy camper anywho.
