Is this pump powerful enough to pull water from a five gallon bucket? I give my plants a gallon of water every 2 days and I will be gone 2 weeks.

I bought this product about 5 months ago. My objective was to water our two houseplants for the winter while we are down south. We were away for 3 months and left the unit on a 46 gallon plastic tub. It was plugged into an electric outlet and we have an automatic generator so it was never off power for more than a minute or so. The watering worked for the three months we were away. Now we only were watering two plants but it worked fine. A lot better than saddling one of our children with the plants for the winter.

What is the rate of flow like for this system? I would like a slow steady drip. Considering to water my chameleon.

I have 15 drippers hooked up. I ran the device for 5 minutes and measured the amount at the closest dripper and the farthest dripper. Both had exactly 5 oz of water in each measuring cup. The other 13 drippers were left in the pots to drip on the plants.

Can this be ran only on the usb power cord without using any batteries?

You can run it on USB alone, but a power outage will disrupt your watering cycle if you do not install batteries as well. If you’ll be away for some time, and have watering critical needs like a pet or moisture sensitive plants, I wouldn’t recommend USB only operation.

What are the choices for watering times ? seconds per pot ? are all pots watered for the same amount of time ?

The set up is one pump pushing water down one line. All the droppers come off that one line in series. You can control when the pump starts and how long it pumps. Thats it. If you want more water in one pot versus another you put more droppers in that pot. If you want more water in all the pots you can lengthen the watering time. If you want the watering to occur more often then you shorten the interval between watering.
