Great quality
Much better quality than the marginally cheaper chain tools on Amazon. Worked perfectly and built to last.

Great tool
Over my years I've owned, worked with, and wrestled with several chain tool. Finally! a tool that holds the chain together and pushes the pin with ease.Tool is smartly designed....if this tool breaks after a couple uses then get it replaced. The other possibility of this tool breaking is that the user was doing something dramatically wrong with it.If the pin in the chain doesn't push out reasonably easy, stop, double check chain position and pin position, and proceed carefully. Disassembly and assembly of a chain with this tool should be reasonably easy. If used correctly, this tool will lasts a life time.

This is on standby.
Have not used it as of yet, but being that I broke the last one (threaded side of the pin) and is going to be somewhat of a headache to get out, that's on the back burner for now. So I ordered this Pro bike brand. Looks solid enough, clocking in at about 3 1/4" long you can fit in your pocket. So until I fix the other one, within the next ten years, this is it. Oh yeah, it comes in this neat soft plastic package that hangs up. I'll give it five stars anyway, and if it works, another five!

Bad adjusting bolt. It won’t turn to tighten
Poor material. Bolt Thread are defective. Maybe it just happened that I bought a bad one. Buy one and see it for yourself.

Leaves you with a broken chain
Indeed, it breaks the chain. The problem is fixing it back... Usually people don't recommend you to push the pin all the way out of the link, so that it's easier to push it back in, but with this thing it's hard to see where the pin is right now, as it slides into that black adjustable nut on the other side, so that even xray won't be able to tell you, if pin is on the edge. One might say, that some chain manufacturers don't recommend to reuse the pins, so you have to push it all the way out anyway, which this thing does with ease, but then it's pretty hard to put it back in. One of the chains I've seen that requires new pin everytime is Shadow Conspiracy interlocked and they have the tool to re-chain it. What they did there to help you put the new pin in is they provide a guide pin, that you can insert from the other side, which holds links in alignment. When you start pushing new pin in - it pushes that guide pin out. Pretty easy, and it works. Here you need one hand to hold both ends of the chain in alignment, second one to hold new pin and third hand to turn the screw.

Not compatible with Shimano 12-Speed HG.
Or at least, not TRULY compatible. I did manage to split the new chain, but it mangled one set of outer plates. It had to be wedged in and then squeezed in with the pin before it finally started pushing the actual pin through. Luckily, the mangled outer plates are on the section of chain I didn't use. On the other hand, the tools that specifically advertise being compatible are 5x the cost so this is as good as it's going to get. If you guys just open up the vertical spacing just a touch, this tool will work perfectly on these chains.

Solid, reliable, a must have for every cyclists home tool box
Anyone just starting to tackle minor maintenance on their bike is likely to start with replacing chains. Even though many chains now come with quick-links making removing/replacing them a breeze, whenever you buy a new chain it's probably longer than whatever is on your bike and you'll need to remove a few links. There are inexpensive versions of this type of tool, though those aren't nearly as rugged and may wind up damaging the chain. I go through 4-5 chains a year, have replaced over 50 now, and this is my second chain tool from Pro Tools. These are excellent quality, work perfectly and I'd consider this one of those "forever" tools you'll never have to retire (and the only reason I bought another one is for my travel tool kit).

Be patient and line it up.
Worked on a completely rusted, stiff chain on an old bike that had been sitting in the rain.
