The Pagemaster ist einer von 7 Animationsfilmen (mit dem ersten Roger Rabbit Kurzfilm soagr 8), die James Horner vertont hatte.Wie bei seinen anderen Trickfilmen ließ er auch hier seine gelungene Filmmusik mit dem LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA einspielen.Die Neuausgabe von LALALAND RECORDS (limitiert auf 2000 Stück) hat den Klang verbessert, das Album um 5 kurze weitere Tracks ergänztt (davon 2 alternative Versionen) sowie ein informatives Booklet hinzugefügt, dass auch den Text der Erstauflage beinhaltet.Einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die vielen vertrauten Elemente davor entstandener Horner Musiken (Willow, Land Before Time).Insgesamt ein schönes, dem Film entsprechend wunderbar verspieltes wie überwiegend melodisches Filmmusikerlebnis. Die CD enthält auch den Grammy nominierten Titelsong "Whatever you Imagine" (Performed by Wendy Moten).
