Cables matter!
The biggest mistake non audiophiles make with A/V systems is the quality of the cables. People will spend thousands on TV's and Receivers and connect them with Radio Shack cables. Every system, A/V included is only as good as its weakest link. I own $700 Sennheiser headphones a $1,700 headphone amp. I spent $250 for the headphone cable and $100 USB audio cable to connect to my computers. The difference in literally night and day! That being said, this 3.5mm to 1/4in adapter is not a system saver but it is a high quality, gold contact, well made cable. The cable is extremely supple. I paired is with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm extension cable from the same manufacture. I use it with a lower grade but well suited pair of Sennheiser headphones for watching TV when my with wants peace. I am very happy with the purchase and would not hesitate to buy from the same manufacture again. Cheers

Great, but use standard headphones
The only problem I have with this item, is that if you plug in headphones with a microphone, everything sounds scratchy and metallic. I bought an adapter that converts from TRRS to TRS and it works fine.

Degraded Sound Quality
The cable portion is nice and flexible but thinner than expected. Unfortunately, the cable I received, while technically functional, severely degraded audio quality to an extreme degree. A pair of quality headphones suddenly sounded like AM radio through a wool blanket.
