GREAT HOOKS!
Bought 2 new MAX framing guns and installed these hooks on them....Works great! I like the design and placement of the hooks better than the magazine mounted hooks. Extremely handy when working alone, while framing roofs, and working from ladders.

Don't waist your money
Don't buy! The design is rotten. If you want to break you nail gun then this is for you. But if you want your tools to keep working as I do then buy a different sky hook. My nail gun is the Hitachi framing nailerCon: If you use it to hang your nail gun half way through your first day your the main head seal will start coming loose even with the bolt fully lock tightened down.Pros: ok idea but location is not good can't use it well. Hangs funny if you try and hang it from your tool bags and wants to fall. Kinda hangs from a latter.

Good Concept just doesn't work
I bought this because of its ability to hang side ways, I thought that would be great. After about 2 days of use I constantly had to keep tightening the screw. The screw takes a lot of weight and I felt that it would probably crack the housing after constant use so I decided to just stop using it after a few days also with the annoyance of having to retighten the screw because it would constantly leak air. This is my experience with the tool I'm not sure if anyone else had this issue. I decided to just not use the hook because I didn't want to break my 250 dollar nail gun.

Needs one big improvement!
Original review is below - I have modified this rating to three stars. In the same week, two of the hooks snapped off of their respective guns. This is after roughly a year or so of use, give or take. Leading up to this, the gaskets of the guns would leak occasionally because of the bolt loosening with the banging around of the gun/hook assembly - and we would re-tighten the bolt supplied with the hook. Apparently after a few rounds of tightening, the bolts can't take the stress, and they snap. If the bolt included were just a stronger grade (Grade 8?) maybe they wouldn't snap. I still think the hook is great, but I can't give five stars when I have to spend time repairing guns because a bolt snapped off and left the threads inside the gun. Pretty big P-I-T-A.Well worth the money - I've been framing for 15 years and honestly I have no idea how I didn't start using these sooner. I'm almost a bit embarassed about it. The amount of time saved being able to hang the gun on just about anything around you (ladder, rafter, joist, stud, plywood) is dollars in your pocket. I can already see it will prevent gun drops/breakage, and increase safety by not having guns balanced precariously in weird spots. Also - no more hanging guns from the temporary nails driven into nearby objects, which somewhere down the line will prevent a ripped shirt (or worse) when those nails are mistakenly left in a bay and someone crawls through it.I own Hitachi NR/NV83 guns and they fit perfectly, as well as on the Max RH883 that I recently purchased. It's also made in America, which makes me happy.9/25/2014 - A few additional notes, as I'm about to purchase a few more of these. If they could machine some sort of knurling onto the hook end, that would really perfect this hook for me. The smooth hook sometimes slips a little on certain materials (boards with wane, and especially more on steeply pitched rafters), so knurling would maybe help to combat this. Also, I can get this to hook easily on LVLs (1-3/4" thick) but not on 2-1/2" material. Am I doing it wrong?

Took me a while to get used to it
I've had a few different skyhooks for my nail guns and this one is totally different. It took me a few days to decide if I liked it or not and after rolling trussed on a couple houses, I came to the conclusion that I liked it and it make it easier to grab your nail gun vs the old style of skyhooks, however, because I became so used to the other style it's a little difficult to make the adjustment. I will be buying a few more of these for the rest of my nail guns. Who said change was bad? More power to you guys for making a good product better!!

oh yeah hands free
i recommend it for a framer, i might add a hook to my Hitachi Nail gun since this hanger is good to hang it only on 1 1/2 in width 2x4, 2x6, and so on and ladders too.

It took awhile to here in Hawaii, but once it was here , it worked very well for me and the best part is that my co-workers wanted one for themselves too.
