This device is very simple to use. Follow the on screen prompts and just start talking. I'm married to a Brazilian woman who speaks Portuguese only. This device out of the box has completely changed our ability to communicate and so far it hasn't missed a translation yet. No having to go through word reconnecting or trial and Era just start taking to each other. What a great piece of equipment. We've tried several different types of devices with no success. The V4 worked immediately out of the box were both very happy. I would recommend this to anyone needing a excellent translation tool. Yes it's not cheap but things that actually preform as needed usually aren't!!

Just recieved the translator for my trip to Europe. I think its functions pretty well. It can be used without Wifi or your iPhone. It used Mobile phone network and transltion speed could be slower than Wifi connection. After connecting to home wifi, this translator respond very quickly. It is good to be used in learning foreiggn language. more than enough language options for me to pick up. I like it instantly!!!

THESE ARE THE MOST TERRIBLE SOUNDING TRANSLATORS THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD. I HAVE HAD THESE FOR A WHILE NOW BUT I FORGOT UNTIL NOW, WHEN WRITING A FEW REVIEWS FOR PURCHASES I HAVE MADE ON AMAZON, THAT I STILL HAVE THESE AND THAT I NWVER COMPLAINED BEFORE THIS. I AM ACTUALLY QUITE AMAZED AND SHOCKED AND NOW REALLY CONFUSED AT THE MONENT AS I BUY SO MUCH FROM AMAZON AND I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THAT AMAZON WOULD SELL ANYTHING LIKE THIS. AS I MENTIONED, I PURCHASED THESE A WHILE BACK AND I WILL ADMIT THAT MAKING A COMPLAINT THIS LATE IS MY OWN FAULT. UT AS I WILL DESCRIBE, THESE TRANSLATORS MADE ME SO SICK THAT I SIMPLY PUT THEM BACK IN THE BOX AND PUT THEM IN A CLOSET AND FORGOT ABOUT THEM. SO SORRY. THE ONLY REASON THAT I CAN THINK OF AT ATTEMPTING TO JUSTIFY MY LATENESS IS WHAT I AN ABOUT TO SAY. AND BTW, I HAVE HEARD QUITE A FEW DIFFERENT ONES. FURTHERMORE AND TO END ALL OF THIS, AND TO BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR ABOUT MY COMPLAINT, BUT ALSO TO ADD INJURY TO INSULT, THEY EVEN HAD A SPECIAL PROMOTION WHERE I RECEIVED 2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1. YOUWHAT A JOKE. SERIOUSLY THOUGH, THESE TRANSLATORS ARE THE MOST TERRIBLE I HAVE EVER HEARD THE DIFFERENCE IN THESE TRANSLATORS AND A GOOD QUALITY TRANSLATOR, THEY WOULD PROBABLY CRY, AS I ALMOST DID. SADLY AND HONESTLY, IT WAS MORE LIKE EITHER CRY OR VOMIT. JUST LET ME SAY THAT ALTHOUGH I CAME CLOSE TO CRYING, I DID. NOT. BUT I DID GET SICK.I APOLOGIZE FOR THE LENGTH OF THIS, BUT AS I SAID, HOPEFULLY THIS WILL KEEP ANYINE CONSIDERING ORDERING THESE TO PLEASE RECONSIDER. AT THE LEAST, PLEASE LISTEN TO SOME QUALITY ONES FIRST SUCH AS IFLYTWCH OR SIMILAR. I PROMISE THAT YOU WILL SIMPLY BE AMAZED AND NOT BE SORRY, AS I AM !!!!

It’s good but has some hiccups - it spells some words wrongly . Sometimes it’s slow , where’s as most of the time it’s pretty fast . If you carry it around while it’s on , it gets triggered and does things you don’t want , if you carry it in your pocket - it needs a firm carry case to prevent this . Design seems good / accuracy good be better / speed varies sometimes .

I'm using this for Japanese to English, and reverse....It does NOT need the internet ( via a smart phone or a network)..this is HUGE when you're someplace and can't get a network wireless signal. It's easy to use, and is fairly loud...which is great because I'm hearing impaired. It translates text and voice...and as far as my tests go, is VERY accurate and quick!! I can't wait to try it in Tokyo!!! I actually own an Enence, and it NEEDS internet via a smart phone to work....big drawback when using it in other countries!!

It's not as good as everybody says it is. The translator gets things totally wrong to where if you're not careful and proofread that the translator got everything right it can put your life in jeopardy. Some of the translations were threatening and nobody even said anything like that. It got the translations wrong about 50% of the time. The only good thing about this is that if you don't have Google translate on your phone where you don't have cell signal this thing does have cell signal but it doesn't have cell signal in a lot of areas. I went to Sao Paulo Brazil which is I think the fourth biggest city in the world or something like that. They have cell towers everywhere. Half of the time it didn't have cell signal

We ordered the older M3 Vasco and it was too small, hard to hear, very slow waiting for it to respond, and simply very unpleasant to use. We took a gamble and bought this newer replacement model hoping it would make the grade. It definitely did! Bigger, Louder, Faster, more Responsive. It is everything the old M3 wasn't. Highly recommended!

This is a "frequently returned item" for a reason. When I bought mine, I was under the impression that the translator did not *require* wifi and cellular to work property. It needed one or the other, and in times where there was no connection, the device would just work with the dictionaries previously downloaded. This is not the case. The device is connected to wifi an cellular at *all* times, even when they are not in use. So, upon hiking into remote areas where there is no wifi or cellular service, we found the translator does NOT work *at all* nor will it rely on itself even for basic translations. What started off as an exciting adventure ended up with 2 groups of people who didn't understand each other in the middle of the jungle. This was a very disappointing purchase... especially for the price. None of us cares about "AI" and company leaders' dependence on it in trying to cut corners. We all care about whether something works well or not, and this item only works as long as there are wifi and cellular connections... whether you want it to or not.
