Seems more accurate than another big name Cat DNA test.My favorite company.

We knew our cat wasn't the breed he'd been sold as. Now we know what he really is 😃 wouldn't change him though!

Thought mum was half simease and had no idea about dad so thought it worth getting. Quite interesting but the traits information that not that good, yes I know what colour she is by looking at her. And I given domestic cat breeds are not maintained that doesn't mean much. Also it says there is a call with them but I can't find any information about a phone call once I've done it.

*contacted Uk customer service (excellent by the way) and they arranged for the tests to be rechecked , all this was completed within days and the results from this were much more accurate)* So disappointed. Paid for 2 DNA tests , for 2 of our cats. One of our cats is a ragdoll, his parents are both ragdolls and he looks like a ragdoll!! (results came back as 100% Maine Coon.) Our other cats mother is half ragdoll and his dad is a huge ginger moggy. Gus’ DNA came back American domestic cat and British domestic cat, no Ragdoll dna at all! We 100% know the parentage of our cats , we just wanted the DNA tests for the other information offered. The only thing we have got from these tests is the fact that you can take them with a pinch of salt! Maybe wisdom need to collect more data on cats before offering a test? Only positive is that they keep you updated with the progress and the visual/info in your cats account (even though results aren’t even close to accurate.) Most Annoying - partner proved right that it would be a huge waste of money! 🙄

Yeah we thought it had got lost in post as we know kittens mum was a ragdoll but not sure about father so just being called a tuxedo, wanted to find out but this is like 23 and me goes further back and also even tells you about diseases thatto they are more prone to have due to the mix and also with the dna extraction, fragmentation. genotyping etc they can tell things that way. Easter slowed everything down with the mail so yeah was happy to get an alert today that its been received by lab and results will be sent back to place about 2 weeks.

We sent buccal samples to Wisdom Panel, and over 6 weeks later after we chased them up, found that the samples had been lost. We were Sent a replacement and incredibly, the second set of our cat's samples have been mislaid - along with our personal details. They told us that if the 3rd lot was lost by them, we would have to pay for another! That seemed ridiculous and unreasonable. Months after first trying to investigate our cat's origins and genetic background, we have no progress. Also Wisdom Panel would only refund us via Paypal, which is really inconvenient. The whole experience was horrible and completely frustrating. Use Laboklin. At least they are based in the UK.

Considering Syd came from a rescue centre near Dublin it was fascinating to see the different countries where his ancestors came from. I could imagine his great great etc arriving in Europe with a Viking family! Some of Syd’s athletics in climbing and his physical build I could immediately see when reading up on the Norwegian Forest Cat. He protested a bit when swabbing inside his cheek for the dna sample but you know what cats can be like!

Did this for my 2 ragdolls. One I was convinced was mixed breed and actually came back as full raggy. The one I thought was full was mixed with Persian, Maine coon and Birman from his dads side. Really surprising but great to see! I got the test to check for health factors which affect the breed and was happy it came back negative and both are healthy. Will use again when they are older as it can appear later in life and these felt like a great company and definitely value for money
