I love chili crunch, and love Asian hot sauces/oils. I use this on everything whereas my BF uses sriracha or “standard” hot sauces. I generally like less spicy items to him, but he says this is too hot for him- I think he can’t handle all the flavor! I use this on literally everything. Be sure to stir it before each use, and at the end, if you still end up with a ton of chili flake, just add some neutral oil (I use olive, but keep in mind olive and avocado solidify in the fridge, this needs to be kept refrigerated after opening) to thin it back out. I also keep my jar in a glass in the fridge, like all jarred chili oils, it can get messy and stain. I want to try the extra hot, but this one is so good that I even am thinking about what to make to have some as I write this review!!

I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt like I had to leave one for this product, especially because of all the negative reviews I see regarding broken jars on arrival. My package arrived in pristine condition with the jars individually bubble wrapped and placed in seperate boxes. I don't see how this could be packaged any better. If you still have your doubts, order from the boon sauce website, but I think it's worth trying it from Amazon just for the Prime shipping.As for the product itself, this is the most incredible oil I've ever used. It's honestly hard to describe a complex flavor such as this, but it tastes incredible, and goes well with almost anything. Sandwiches? Check! Pizza? Check! Rice? Check! I honestly haven;t found any kind of food that this doesn't pair well with yet. If you haven't tried it before, I wholeheartedly recommend it. I've been buying this since last year.

Is this product overpriced for what you get? Yes. Is it absolutely delicious? YES. I'm addicted to spicy heat and while this has a bit of a bite it is not all that hot. Overpriced and not a ton of heat; so why do I give it 5 stars? Because the balance of flavor is just perfect. It has something other chile oils don't have. Maybe the anchovies and I don't even care for anchovies but SOMETHING in this has made it my very favorite chile oil! And no, it does not have a fishy taste. Will I overpay for it again? Yes, yes, I will, lol!

I saw this on worth it a while back ago and always wanting to try it since they have a great review on the video. I love the back story for this and I am glad that I was able to try a jar of it.Taste: if you are looking for those trendy chrispy chili oil then perhaps this one doesn’t fall in line with what you are looking for. I just had a first taste of this now and it is shockingly … alright. It is spicy and I love that. Normally chili oil you get from a traditional Chinese joint is not very flavorful nor spicy. This one however has a kick to it and it is spicier than most. I do love spicy food so my tolerance might be diffent than most. So if you think that chili oil that you get from a normal restaurant is spicy, then bone has more of a kick than than that. The chili oil is also savory and it is not as bland. Don’t get me wrong it is not as savory that it will overpower your food. It is not as savor that you can just eat white rice and this, however it does have a nice savory taste from the anchovy. The anchovy taste is there but my fiend said that it is fishy. I personally don’t find it that fishy that it overpower the other flavor. The heat level does creep up on you so use little by little to make sure you don’t over spice your food.Price: for what you get, it is good. However, I am more of a chili chrisp type of guy and that this doesn’t compare to that. I always killed the whole chili chrisp jar within a couple days which is why I thought it is very expensive … however if you really look at it the ounce to price ratio is actually not that big of a diffence. This one is probably more expensive. However, this jar will probably last longer than the S&B or Momoya chili chrisp oil since I won’t splurge on it as much. To say I won’t splurge on it like those other brand, it is not because of the taste but I just enjoy the crunchy taste of those other brand better. With all that being said, I think that this is good for to have and it is tasty.
