OEM Ford Carplay USB Hub Module Upgrade for Sync 3 Models HC3Z-19A387-H

I bought this USB hub for my Ford F-150 after Apple CarPlay stopped working, and this ended up being the perfect solution. Installation was extremely easy and required no tools at all—just pop the old one out, plug in the two wiring connectors in the back, and snap the new hub in place. The whole install took about 5 minutes. CarPlay immediately started working again with no issues. If you’re having USB or CarPlay problems in your F-150, this is an easy and affordable fix that works exactly as advertised.

Works perfect, though I have 2016 F150 and this was smaller than the stock in my truck. I read a review to switch the internal components’ very easy to do and works perfectly! They fit just fine don’t need a to be a technician to do so!

Let’s call it what it is—this wasn’t an upgrade, it was damage control. The original factory module? Total embarrassment. Dropped connection, wouldn’t recognize CarPlay half the time, and made me question whether Ford actually tests their tech before shipping it out. Enter its replacement—Swapped it in, fired it up, and finally got the functionality I was supposed to have from day one. Clean install, factory fit, and CarPlay now connects instantly like it has a clue. Ford should’ve nailed this the first time, but at least this part puts the fire out. If your original hub took a dump like mine did, save the troubleshooting headache and just get this one. It’s not an upgrade. It’s Ford doing a do-over—and this time, it actually works.

I have a 2016 Ford F-150. I bought this to upgrade the infotainment system to allow Apple CarPlay to work. It works perfectly. Easy plug-and-play swap. The only negative is that the fascia on this USB hub is smaller than the original that came with the truck. So, there are small gaps on either side of the hub. However, this is in a container area and debris really isn't a concern. Well worth the price to upgrade the system to a modern standard.

Ordered the USB HUB module to enable Carplay. After installing the HUB, charging no longer worked on any type of device. Reinstalled the original hub - and charging returned (Carplay still did not work - as expected). Returned the item tp Rob Baker Ford and was charged a 100% restocking fee (no details as to why) for a defective product. The Part was an OEM product in OEM packaging and returned in the same packaging. If you receive a working part - then probably no issues, but if you have any issues with the part - expect to pay for a non working part. I hope that they rectify this situation. This part functions exactly as expected. It added car play to my Sync 3 equipped Ford. I immediately realized it was not the same dimensions as the original However, it is easy to swap the internals to the original. Installation was less than fifteen minutes. Note the orientation of the circuit boards, they fit in slots.

Depending on what vehicle you’re putting this into, the plastic backing may not cover the factory opening/slot that it installs into. The unit works as it should.
