When I saw these veils, I was completely unaware of the many women choosing to cover their heads when attending Catholic mass. Growing up in the 50s and 60s, it was an unspoken requirement, or at least the norm, that women wear a mantilla or even a small handkerchief on their head at mass. I thought the tradition had completely died out long ago. Seeing these mantillas on Amazon sent me searching for the "why" they were even being sold. I found the information about millennial Catholic women returning to the tradition and found it interesting, although I no longer consider myself Catholic.The tradition aside, this mantilla is a very pretty head covering. The embroidered lace look is quite delicate, the material soft and flowing. There are many occasions outside of attendance at Catholic mass where the mantilla can be comfortably worn.Whether one wants to wear the mantilla as a statement of faith or as an item of fashion, these mantillas are lovely and delicate, with no loose threads or glitches in the weaving. They are 100% polyester and can be washed and ironed to stay crisp looking.

I ordered this head cover to were to liturgy as I cover my head during prayer and all church services. I love the beautiful pattern of the lace and the white is a nice crisp white just as pictured. The reason I wanted this style is that as we move into the dimmer months my other head coverings are to hit and this one is thin and light weight. It is quite see through so if you prefer to conceal your hair completely just keep that in mind. It is a good length in the back and you can leave it hanging down in the front or even tie it under your chin if you prefer that. It is silky due to the soft of the lace donI will use Bobby pins to hold it in place so I don’t have to work about it slipping during prayer.

A great quality veil for those looking for a catholic church mantilla. Has a pretty lace design and comfortable to wear. Covers short to medium hair length.
