Is this 100% Chimayo chili? Not a 'blend'?

It certainly reminds me of the mild Chimayo chili powder I have purchased in the past while in northern New Mexico .

I've only used red, it's fabulous!

What is the shelf life of Chimayo chili powder?

This pepper has a really rich pepper taste when it arrives and what I count on is 1 to 2 years for fresh spices like this type. However, when I receive them if they are not in a glass jar I place them in one and keep them away from the stove or any heat source until I use them in a recipe. When you open the jar always smell the pepper and see if it still is fragrant. If not, discard it. I have been told that powdered spices like pepper can be stored in a jar in the freezer to retain freshness but I have not personal tried this method. Also when you cook with chili pepper or cumin you can heat them in abit of oil to release their flavour more fully.
