Brondell HF-33 Carbon Block Water Filter Replacement for Cypress Countertop Water Filtration System

Without testing the water, which requires buying a water purity testing for about $20, one has to use some other method to test whether a water filter is satisfactory. These are the methods I have used to rate this product 5 stars. It is elegantly constructed and is firm and sturdy. It consists of three filters, two that need to be changed every 6 months, and one that needs to be changed every year, and that seems to me to be reasonable. It is not 'dirt' cheap nor very expensive, but is reasonably priced. I have used other water filters in the past, and prefer this one over all prior ones. Hence 5 stars.

I noticed that after around 7 months our filter starting running "slowly." oops, time to replace it! I did and sure enough the water dribbled out much quicker into a steady stream after the system pressurized. At first glance I thought I ordered the wrong one because of the protective cap it has on. Once removed it makes perfect sense where it applies. The tool to remove the old filter is located in the top of the unit. installation can be done by just about anyone and takes five minuets, a ten minute flush and a one hour pressurization in our apartment building.

Works great when installed correctly.

Very nice product. Although it would be nice if it didn't cost so much since you have to change every six months and it's like purchasing the entire filter system all over again.

Although the manufacturer estimates that you can go six month on one cartridge, the efficacy in a normal household for removing chlorine taste appears to last that long, but the data indicates that much of the other key filtering is actually at its most effective for only about 3 months of regular use. So, to be on the safe side, we replace ours every 90 days or so. Still much cheaper and more environmentally friendly that buying bottled water!

Filter is exactly as described. Wonderful product and highly recommend. Have used other filter systems and cannot compare to the Brondell. I am presently using the water from this system to fill a humidifier. No "white dust", no buildup within the humidifier parts -- so these filters for the Brondell System really do work.

Unit was easy to hook up. There is no longer an "oder" to my drinking water. I live in an department and I like the fact that I can easily take the unit with me.
