Panasonic eneloop Smart 8 charger | for 1-8 AA/AAA Ni-MH batteries, with 8 LED indicators & 9 safety features (UK plug)

Although the supplied mains lead was fitted with a Euro plug you can easily use a mains lead from another device (it's a common type of lead - I already had several).When you put a battery or several batteries in the charger it seems to do a check (with a nice flashing light display) before starting to charge. The charger correctly identified some worn out (i.e faulty) batteries and refused to charge them (but carried on charging the good batteries). Charges quickly but does not seem to overcharge. Batteries are all treated individually so you can add or remove batteries at any time during the charging process without affecting the other batteries already being charged. This makes the charger very easy to use- just add all the batteries you think might need charging at any time and the charger sorts out which are good, which are faulty, which are already charged and which need charging. Oh, and you can mix any combination of AA and AAA batteries during charging - once you learn the trick of fitting the AAA batteries that is (takes about 30 seconds to learn)

Exspensive purchase but a quality item that works well. I have only used this item with the reccommended manufacturers batteries but am very happy with the performance.

It has enabled me to keep all the batteries for the various lights charged up over Christmas. The individual charging slots are very useful when charging a mixture of batteries.

Only just purchased this so can't speak to the longevity but it's a neat little package. Easy to load and unload, nice clear LEDs to let ou know what the battery status is, seems to charge quite quickly.The only frustration as a UK purchaser is that it comes with a 2-pin shaver socket style plug so it needs an adapter.

Bought to recharge batteries, also bought at same time, to power our church radio microphones,Neat tidy unit with wired connection to plug in, rather than plugging the unit in to a socket making it easier to use where needed

I use them to power my synths, etc. Would never use another brand. Not cheap, but trust me, you won't regret it.

Got mine today and it came with a 3 pin plug on the cable. I went through all the Panasonic Eneloop brand chargers on this site and it seemed only the ones with a flex might have a UK plug. The chargers that plug straight to the socket seemed to all be 2 pin plugs. All the chargers appear to be designed with the German/EU market in mind. On my item, the packaging says BQ-CC63U but the product label says BQ-CC63E. I wonder if the U stands for UK, meaning the charger itself is a German/EU product but packaged for the UK with a 3pin plug.It works fine. The other comments about the green light are correct: flashing green is it checking the battery, solid green is it charging, off is it completed (or errored if it didn't go green). I would prefer flashing to show it is charging and solid green to show it is done. But you should not leave a battery charger unattended, so always keep an eye on it.
