Powerful
Bright, Powerful, and Built Well! I’m really impressed with the WUBEN X4 flashlight. It puts out an incredibly bright beam and has plenty of range, making it great for everything from working around the shop to checking things outside at night. The light feels solid and well-built in your hand, and it doesn’t feel like a cheap flashlight. The different lighting modes are convenient, and I really like having a powerful flashlight that I can rely on when I need it. The size is also great—easy to carry without sacrificing performance. Overall, this is an excellent flashlight for the price. Bright, durable, easy to use, and powerful enough for just about anything I’ve needed it for. Definitely recommend it!

Bright, well made, and versatile
First off, LED technology has advanced at breakneck speeds lately, and holy cow this thing is BRIGHT! The dial lets you adjust to just the level you need. It's kinda complicated to function with all the different modes... moon, strobe, color signal strobe, glow stick, etc but once you figure it out they really packed a lot of features into this hand held package. One of my favorite features is the very tactile momentary switch on the rear end for quick on and strobe feature. USB charging is great. Overall, this thing feels great in the hand. Super solid and sleek.

this is just a really convenient and reliable flashlight
I ended up buying a second one of these, which pretty much says everything. It’s one of those things you don’t realize how useful it is until you start carrying it every day. The size is perfect—small enough to throw in your pocket, bag, or even keep in your truck without it getting in the way, but still powerful enough to actually be useful when you need it. The brightness is impressive for how compact it is. The 1500 lumens is more than enough for everyday situations, whether you’re working, looking for something in the dark, or just need a quick light. It’s not just a gimmick—it actually performs. The beam is clean and strong, and it doesn’t feel underpowered like some smaller lights do. Build quality is another big plus. It feels solid in your hand, not cheap or flimsy, and like it can take some use without falling apart. The controls are simple too, which I like. You don’t have to mess around with complicated settings just to turn it on or switch modes. The RGB feature is a nice bonus. It’s not something you’ll use all the time, but it’s cool to have and can come in handy depending on what you’re doing. Overall, this is just a really convenient, reliable flashlight that you’ll end up using way more than you expect. Buying a second one was an easy decision. Definitely worth it.

Great Feature Rich EDC at a Great Price
This is a pretty darn well designed light. It has a nice substantial feel to it, and has lots of cool features. I won't focus on those as you can read them in the description. Light output is good, it has a claimed output of 1,500 lumens, which I will believe. My usual EDC is a Cloud Defensive MCH Duty which is a verified 1,800 lumens and you can judge the perceived brightness for yourself. The tight beams are similar in brightness, but the Cloud does have a significantly wider flood. For situations where a lower light is required, the X4 really sets itself apart. Not only does the beam get significantly more dim, it's infinitely adjustable on the way down, whereas I'm set with pre-set brightness in most other EDC lights. The side light is handy for map reading when you need to keep your light signature down or your low light vision intact, and if that isn't enough set the RBG LED array to red. The fact it's rechargeable is fantastic. It takes 18650 batteries which are interchangeable with the Cloud Defensive batteries I already have for my MCH and OWL. And it's cool that it comes in a color besides "tactical" colors like black, tan, OD, etc. And since we're talking "muh tactical", let's address one elephant in the room. This is a flashlight that is feature rich and it's less than $100. I would NOT expect this light to stand up to any type of torture test you could put a Cloud, Surefire, or Streamlight through. That being said, this isn't a tactical light. It's a practical light. So, this doesn't so much stress me out, especially given the price in relation to it's features and my use case. As a general rule, I don't put my stock in "Chinesium" with things I trust with my life (weapon optics and lights etc), but for an everyday EDC this light is great. Are there a few things I would change? Yes. The clip is backwards. The end of the flashlight where the light comes out of should not be facing up in your pocket. It's incredibly awkward pulling it from your pocket and activating the main button on feel alone. You're rotating and fumbling with the light in your hand. I've actually never encountered a pocket light where the clip orients the light facing upwards before. I am genuinely baffled by this design choice. No button, neither the main one or the additional one on the tail cap are easier to access with the orientation of the clip. I have spoken. The "mode" selector needs something done to it as well. Remember that whole weird clip thing? The whole it being backwards thing? Well when you're fumbling with your light in your hand to orient it properly, the mode switch is easy enough to adjust that it could (and does for me) get switched over to a different mode accidentally. I would personally make the mode switch a little harder to toggle so it doesn't inadvertently get moved. And frankly the full lock-out mode should ideally be a fully independent switch that is also something that requires a deliberate act to engage and disengage. Overall thoughts: I like it a lot. It's a very practical size, feature rich, and has great output. I doubt I will test it's water resistance however, as the charging port is directly behind the mode switch and is absolutely capable of being reached it submerged in water. It's likely insulated and safe, because cellphones have exposed ports and carry IP67 ratings and higher but I'm not going to chance it. I would buy it again and will be heavily considering it's big brother the X1Pro.

Seller stepped up when I had problems
I ordered two of these, one black to keep at the house, and one white to put in the car. They had overnight shipping if you ordered it later in the day, or if you order it in the morning, it’s same-day shipping. I got mine overnight and the black one seemed to be all right. Granted there’s a little complexity for the hoops you jump through for the various modes. The white flashlight, however, had a very loose slider selection switch. Compared to the black, you could tell that there was something not right with that sliding switch so obviously there’s some QA issues here. I returned that and got a replacement, and even the replacement white one had a bad loose switch. I wonder if it's just a problem with the white versions or something. Addendum - seller offered to send me a replacement switch that wasn't so loose. Except taking the ribbon cable out of the original switch, there's no way for me to get it to seat properly in the new one due to the short length and limited working area even with needle nose pliers. So now I didn't just have one white flashlight with a loose switch, I had a white flashlight that was rendered useless... And the seller again stepped up and offered me a full replacement, saying that the loose style of switch was an older version and it has been changed out, and a new version was on the way. I like a company that steps up to fix it when a product has an issue. That one arrived quickly, has a good switch, and both work flawlessly. Definitely bright - it's quite flexible with the modes and small enough to be carried with you one way or another. I left one in the car and have the other at home.

Affordable and tough as nails
The X2 Pro+ has a better magnet but these are good too. The "tactical" rear button is a neat feature. Super fidgety with lots of bells and whistles. I've been using both this and the X2 Pro+ during rebuilding a 2004 Civic and they're both great, but from a mechanic's perspective, they could do with some knurling or other texture for when you're trying to handle them with oily or greasy hands. Battery life is great, and the X4's side light is decently bright. The side clip also clips onto pockets and hat bills TIGHT, I've never felt like they were gonna fall off.

Small but ridiculously capable. This thing earns its spot in your EDC!
I’m a big EDC guy, so I’ve tried more flashlights than I care to admit. I recently picked up the Wuben G5 and liked it enough that when I saw the X4, I didn’t overthink it—I just bought it. Glad I did. First thing: the size and weight are spot on. It disappears in your pocket but still feels solid, not like one of those flimsy mini lights that crack if you look at them wrong. This thing is sturdy. Functionality is where it really stands out. It’s basically a multi-tool disguised as a flashlight. The RGB light is not just a gimmick—it actually adds versatility depending on what you’re doing. Whether it’s in your car, part of an emergency kit, or just general use while camping, it fits right in. It’s also very easy to operate. No complicated learning curve, you pick it up and it just makes sense. For the price, I think the quality-to-cost ratio is excellent. You’re getting a lot more utility than you’d expect in something this compact. If you’re into EDC or just want a reliable, compact flashlight you can throw anywhere and forget about until you need it, this is an easy recommendation. Don’t overthink it—just get one.

Another potentially decent light ruined by the details
I really wanted to like this light, and was very excited to try out the brightness adjustment wheel, a rare feature made even more exciting by the promise of stepless dimming. However, I was only to be disappointed. The advertised "stepless dimming" is not actually stepless at all! It just smoothly fades between six brightness levels, which it jumps between without any tactile feedback while rotating the wheel. The wheel has no mechanical end stops, either, and the light instead flashes off and on annoyingly to indicate that you've hit the end of the scale. The wheel also controls color for the RGB light, but similarly only jumps between 7 possible colors. There was an attempt to make the color transitions smooth, but instead it fades between some and jumps between others, which is very strange and confusing. It feels like they designed the whole wheel control part without much thought and expected users not to notice, which is quite frustrating as someone who bought a flashlight advertising a rare feature with the expectation of that feature actually being present, and not crudely faked. I got excited when I saw all the different emitters with different lenses at the front in the photos, but it turns out there's no way to activate them individually - they all just come on at once at the same brightness. The resulting beam pattern is nice, at least, giving decent throw and a smooth falloff from the center, but it would certainly have been nice to be able to use the long, medium, and short-range emitters separately. The control scheme is reasonably easy to understand, if extremely clunky. The slide switch to access the different modes is nice, but then there's a separate on/off button for some reason that you have to press every time (you can't change modes while keeping the light on; it turns itself off when the switch is moved). The brightness wheel would have been worth having if it had actually been a stepless potentiometer-style control, but as a discrete brightness level selector, it's awful. Because you can't turn it a tiny bit to change the brightness by a tiny bit, it's hard to figure out which way to turn it to get the brightness you want, which is frustrating. It also turns "the wrong way" - when turning it from the side opposite the pocket clip, which is the only place you can comfortably turn it from, you move your finger away from the front to make it brighter and toward the front to make it dimmer, which is counterintuitive. There's a way to jump to the highest brightness, but not the lowest one (except by switching to moon mode, which is a whole separate main mode on the sliding switch), meaning that there's not actually any reliable way to turn the light on at a medium brightness without potentially turning it on at full brightness. You can at least turn it on in moon mode to be sure of not hurting your eyes, but if you want to brighten it at all from there, you're still stuck trying your luck with whatever brightness the main mode was last set to, which is frustrating. The tail switch is nonsense. I was hoping it would be a sort of "unconditional turbo" button, like the secondary button on the Nitecore EDC series, but it's much less sensible than that. It does indeed give momentary access to the highest brightness setting, but only when the light is set to either the side light or normal front light modes, and off. If you turn the light on, the tail switch no longer does anything, which is quite frustrating. Furthermore, if you switch to moon mode, the tail switch becomes a toggle on/off for moon mode just like the regular on/off button, which is pointlessly confusing. I do really like the idea here of having a bunch of different switches and buttons with different roles, instead of just one button and tons of confusing multi-press actions, but the behavior of the controls is so inconsistent and so prominently lacking in basic utility (like the ability to avoid unexpectedly activating high brightness settings) that I really can't pretend to like it. Strangely, while the listing made it clear that the light has a sealed-in non-replaceable battery, the unit I received has a quite nifty little lockable door holding in a perfectly standard 18650 cell. This is a great feature, and actually wins back a whole star from me in this review (I would otherwise probably have gone down to three), but it's weird that it wasn't advertised at all. Build quality is the final silver lining. The body of the light is well-made, everything fits together nicely, and the various controls feel good to use. It really makes me wish there was any sense in how the functional side of things was designed, because it's a very sharp-looking little thing and I'd love to carry it around everywhere. Unfortunately, it really just isn't good enough to rate a spot on my belt.

Potente e solida, tascabile e impermeabile.
