The Vibrant Workplace: Overcoming the Obstacles to Building a Culture of Appreciation

Game changing book for improving workplace culture!!!
I work for a large company and my team was exploring culture changing approaches. My wife and I are huge fans of the “5 Love Languages” in our personal lives and “The 5 Languages of Appreciation In the Workplace,” so I recommended the latter to my boss and she was so excited and supportive that she bought a copy for the whole team and we embarked on a 6 month long journey to explore the improvement of our workplace culture. It was so successful that my manager asked my wife and I to lead a 4-hour workshop during a week-long sharpening our skills seminar. I contacted Dr. Paul White for help in putting this together and we discovered that he has great specific learning articles as well a certification for the 5 Languages of Appreciation. During this preparation, we also read the “The Vibrant Workplace” and were pleased to learn that it was a great supplement to the first book in that it explored the obstacles to workplace appreciation and how to overcome them. After all this work, we took a poll today and learned that all our team members feel more valued since we started the program. We now have a visual display in our office identifying all the primary and secondary languages of appreciation for our team members to keep it on the forefront of our minds and have seen a drastic improvement in the treatment and best practices in our local and remote employees. Thank you, Dr. White, for all your wisdom and amazing support and for writing this impactful tactical guidebook to building a vibrant workplace. We are on a great path thanks to you.

Practical Resource for Implementing a Culture of Appreciation
Having previously read "The Five Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace" by the same author, "The Vibrant Workplace" was extremely helpful in applying the concepts of appreciation in a business setting. I had previously encountered many of the situations and roadblocks outlined in this book - so I just wish I had read it sooner! This is an especially important companion to "The Five Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace," but it also would be beneficial as a stand-alone book for those who haven't read its predecessor (although I'm sure you'll be compelled to read the other one afterwards!). Highly recommended as a practical solution for creating a culture of appreciation and gratitude at your workplace - whether you're the CEO or front-line staff, you can make a difference!

wife says it's a good enough read
wife says it's a good enough read, if you think you need to read this for a reason, then get it.

Only covers "why" and not "how" to make changes
The worst part about this book is it's useless without a companion book they keep referencing on HOW (this book is the WHY). Also tries to set you up to purchase their expensive program. Has some good ideas but kind of pointless without how to execute them.

Really Enjoyed the Vibrant Workplace
I really enjoyed Dr. White's book, a really practical guide to improving the workplace environment. We have a positive work environment where people enjoy what they do. But Dr. White's book made me realize that we must be intentional to ensure that hardworking people are recognized and feel appreciated. I was also encouraged that it doesn't take a grandiose plan to make a difference. I can take simple, immediate actions to improve the culture of our organization.I highly recommend this book. P.S. You will also love the illustrations. They are hilarious but also make practical points.

I thoroughly enjoyed this easy and very informative read
I thoroughly enjoyed this easy and very informative read. There are a few places that stood out to me, but I got the most out of the chapters relating to negativity and how to appreciate a difficult co-worker. The chapter intro stories were great and I really loved the comics. :). Anyone who reads this book will see themselves at one time or another in their work lives. There are many practical solutions to frustrating issues to put to good use. I recommend this book to all employees and employers. This may be my favorite book by Dr. Paul White yet!
