Dents the top of quarter round.
Good option if you mainly want to cut flat pieces at 45 degrees. I'm cutting quarter round that is 1/2 inch tall (one of the smallest quarter rounds) and the blade gaurd still pressing down on the material to the point of creating a dent if you want to push the blade all the way through. Would opt for a different arrangement and something that allows you to move the angle guide around next time.

A very good set of garden shears
This is a REALLY NICE set of pruning shears! Far better quality than I expected for the price. They are surprisingly HEAVY weight, SHARP, and have a wonderful grip handle. The handle is secured to the shaft, and will not slip around. I have a very nice electric pruning device, but I wanted something hand-held to clip the odd twig or branch poking out. These certainly do the trick, but if I wanted to substitute this for my electric shear I certainly could as they make easy work of branches up to 1/2” thick (maybe thicker, but that’s all I tried). The blade is made of steel and did not show any wear after use – no divots or dings – and it has a nice safety lock. Makes a nice, clean cut. Sharp, so keep away from little fingers!!Cons: Not really a con, but something to look out for – when you open the package there is a bit of an oily substance that will leak out. Open the package outside or at a kitchen counter and have a rag ready. I’m guessing the oil is there to keep the blade moist, but I was not expecting it, so look out for that.

Not what thought
Not happy with the lack of functionality I thought it would swivel to desired cut! 2 stars because it did my 45 angle cuts with guide but that's it!

Used them for 10 hours. All Good!
I was cutting edging trim for our stairs. These were a lifesaver! I couldn't imaging trying to draw out all the 45 degree angles and sawing them. Eesh!My trim was a very dense plastic, dense enough that all my tools were shredding the edges or they simply couldn't cut it. ( I'm just a crafty diy-er so I don't have an impressive colection of tools handy. ) These cut the trim. Mind you, it wasn't easy and my hands are soar as ____ today, but I managed to make all the cuts for my 11 steps and it looks really precise. My trim wasn't as thick as the tool was made for, so I had to cut a spacer to sit in the ridge, see picture. I was still able to make exact cuts. I changed the blade halfway through and it was a simple process, you just need a screwdriver. It came with a box of blades, and they are standard razor blades. You won't need to buy any special blades in the future. This is a great addition to my tool collection, and its great for crafters and DIY-ers. But if you plan on using it all day, you may want to get some padded gloves to save your hands.

Easy to use, Solid Construction
The all-metal construction of this tool feels very solid in the hand. The replaceable cutting blades are thick enough to hold up to substantial closing force without buckling and protrude about 5/16” for the upper jaw. At the midpoint, the jaws open to about 1.25”, allowing it to cut a good range of material sizes.I bought this primarily to cut various types of plastic tubing and for that it works very well – quick, smooth cuts that are far better than a pocket knife or a hacksaw produces. It easily cut 1.25” O.D. clear vinyl tubing, 5/8” polypropylene tubing, and 5/8” polyethylene (LDPE) tubing - all with a comfortable amount of squeezing (photo illustrates the smoothness of these cut surfaces).Beyond plastic tubing, this is advertised as a tool to cut ¼-round and other moldings, which could be made of wood or plastic.I tested it on a ¼” thick piece of poplar and, although it took a little more force than with the softer plastic tubing, I found that I could get a clean 90-degree cut (see photo).I then tried a ½” thick piece of oak corner molding and found the limit of the tool; this oak molding is both very hard and also a little too big for the tool. The 5/16” extension of the blade from the upper jaw meant that it was able to cut about half way through the molding but no further.I then tried a ½” diameter oak dowel and, despite exerting a lot of force on the handles, the blade got stuck about 2/3 of the way through. In the photo, you can see how the rigid dowel butts up against the clamping portion of the jaws, preventing them from fully closing to complete the cut. This issue seems to be restricted to rigid materials like the oak. More flexible materials, like the vinyl tubing, temporarily compress during the cutting process and allow the jaws to complete the cut.The support plate on the lower jaw is etched with markings to make various angled cuts. I made a pair of matching 45-degree miter cuts in a piece of white polystyrene U-channel (used to make simple picture frames) and then checked the fit-up using an Incra precision square; as the photo shows, the two pieces assemble to form a good 90-degree corner. My test-piece of polystyrene Ogee molding moved during cutting, resulting in a cut that was not square. On close inspection, I found that the support plate on the lower jaw has a high point in the center and slopes downward on either side (gaps between the bottom of the material and the support plate are visible in the photo). This may be an intentional design choice to help increase cutting power, but I found that it makes it challenging to get a good 90-degree cut and required some-trial and error to find the best orientation of the molding in the tool.All-in-all, this is a well-made cutting tool. As with all hand tools, however, this one has some limitations on the size and properties (e.g., hardness) of the material it will cut. As long as you use it within these limits, it should work very well and have a long service life. I understand that the company makes somewhat larger versions of this same tool that may be better-suited to cutting larger pieces of material. Considering what material you are going to be cutting should help to select the proper size of tool to meet your needs.

Good so far
I opened this and tried cutting a popsicle stick, it cut it like BUTTER. Very easy to use and comfortable in the hand. I would like to test it out on some other bits of wood or anything else and then add more to this review but from my initial use that was so easy! I don't know if this is typical, but the blade is the same blades that are used for box cutters, and the package came with extras of those. There is a little screw on the side with a red plastic thing covering some of it which basically puts it on safe or cut. I like that so they don't just sit open and have the ability to hurt yourself or someone else. This is a fixed position cutter meaning you move the cutting material into your correct angle and cut, not move the blade or base to the correct angle. I only mention that in case someone doesn't know or if there is a different kind of cutter out there that does that. All in all, I am very excited to use this with some of my crafts, I've been wanting one for a while and as I use it, I will update the review with more information as I try it on more items.
