Urban CoCo Women's Basic Versatile Stretchy Flared Casual Mini Skater Skirt

I’m 5’3 and a size 14-16 in pants, weighing 215lbs. Usually a 2x when wearing tops. I brought a size XL because that was the biggest size they had for the red wine colored skirt. The XXL was out of stock, but I desperately was in a rush for a holiday vaca. It was a bit tight on me, wanted to wear it like a two piece with a crop top but couldn’t because it didnt look flattering around the waist with the tightness going on. Overall the skirt looks nice and flowy. Not too long, not too short. Right above the knee, but over the thighs. Just the right length. Very nice quality. I thought I could get away with downing a size since I really needed the skirt, but I fooled myself and that’s my fault. In the end, I couldn’t wear it with a crop top. Although it does have some type of stretchy-ness to the waistband, it won’t be enough stretch for you to get away with downing a size. If you’re around my weight, you’re better off with a size XXL! Still great product though! Just wish my size wasn’t out of stock. :( Update: I brought another skirt and this time in XXL and I love it! Worth the money! I would say this would fit up to size 18 in pants, but wouldn’t recommend anything above an 18 unless they have an XXXL. Hope this helps my plus size ladies! :) This would definitely be a flattering look for girls of all sizes. Just putting in a review for the girls who think they want to size down! Don’t!! I was pleasantly surprised by this skirt. The material is actually pretty nice, and thick too. The construction seems to be of good quality for the price, with no stitching issues or loose threads on mine. The style is very cute, and it actually lays quite nicely, very similar to the product pictures where it drapes in folds. I'm 5' 8" and chubby, and the 2XL fits me great. Depending on where it hits on your waist specifically, as well as your comfort level, this skirt may be a bit short if you're my height or taller. But on me it doesn't look scandalously short, and I wear shorts underneath anyway so it's perfect for me. My waist is pretty high on my torso, but if I pull the waistband down a bit, then the skirt reaches my fingertips, so I'd pass dress code lol. Overall, it's a very cute skirt.

Very nice skirt - good quality material, elastic waist fits very well and nice full skirt hangs very well. Disappointed in the purple color. I was expecting a good strong color but the overall effect is rather weak and when look closely can see red specks in it. I also have a dark green one with wonderful color.

They look exactly as pictured, and go with practically infinite outfits. Bought in both black and teal, but would definitely go back and get some in more colors! They’re the perfect length (for me at least), covering everything nicely without having to worry about movement as long as I’m not doing anything excessive (in which case, they go great with shorts!). Fabric is nice and comfortable as well!

i’ve bought this skirt multiple times over the last couple of years, and it’s great for cosplayers!! i only got a photo of the pink skirt before altering, i apologize for the bad quality. but the first photo of the pink skirt is what all of them looked like to begin with. i am holding it around my waist because i bought a size to big on accident haha, but its pretty much to same shape and the same volume of skirt. there’s a lot of versatility with these. they are flowy and spin well! but since they are thin if you use a petticoat that has a distinct shape to it (ruffles that swoop upward, hoop skirt, etc) then it shows pretty harshly. of course that’s not necessarily an issue to the majority of people! they are not itchy, there is elastic at the waist with quite a bit of give so that allows for some flexibility in styling it, none of the skirts came smelly or anything, and they don’t seem to wrinkle too much! both the pink and white skirts didn’t wrinkle wearing them for 12+ hr days at conventions. i have yet to wear the red one out for extended periods of time, but i trust it will be the same deal haha. altering info: i cut apart the white skirt at about the middle and took cut out around a 1.5 inch thick piece all the around at the top half once it was cut. then i stitched the bottom part back on gathered a little more to give it a similar style to draculaura from monster high. i also got this skirt not sure if i was going to use a corset or not so i got a size too big on purpose in order to make it adjustable. i cut a slit into the waist band inside the skirt and pulled out the elastic, marked where i needed a button and button hole to be while wearing it for a tighter fit, and added two buttons and button holes. one of each for a looser fit and for a tighter fit. i just took some length off of the bottom of the pink skirt and hemmed it (unhemmed in the second pic of pink skirt, hemmed in third). i also cut a slit in the inside of the waistband to pull out the elastic. i trimmed a chunk out of the waistband and restitched it to fit me better because i accidentally bought the wrong size for my use haha. similarly to the pink skirt, for the red one i cut off some length. but instead of keeping the original circle shape, i cut the waist band from the skirt and cut off length from the TOP of the skirt. i tapered the sides at the top so the shape of the skirt would be a little asymmetrical and be short on either side of the waist. then i used the extra volume for a more voluminous skirt with pleats and stitched it back onto the waistband. overall: great starter piece for altering, and great on its own. lightweight, flowy, and the fabric has a texture i really like. will definitely continue this trend of buying this skirt for cosplay, to alter or otherwise!

I love the idea of a skater skirt- they are so cute and they twirl like a dream, like you're in Dirty Dancing. That said, this skirt works for SOME and not others. Quality wise, it's a nice skirt. It is easy on/easy off elastic, no zippers or clasps to deal with and can fit a number of shaped people. It is a thick skirt so it isn't see through in any way, and it has a light texture throughout- the fabric isn't smooth. The purple is a fun bright eye catching purple. My problem with it, and the reason why it is going back is that this skirt, in MY opinion, will only work well on a small demographic of folks. This skirt is VERY short. I am VERY short (5'1"). If it's supposed to sit at my natural waist which falls JUST above the belly button, this dress is too short to wear functionally without the aid of a shorty short or an opaque tight/legging. I have an ample backside and I am a petite sized woman (~115lbs) The generous curve of my backside did not allow the skirt to give me reasonable coverage. I am also middle aged (40's) and being a small sized woman wearing a skirt that does not give me full coverage is just simply unacceptable. The only way I could in reality wear this skirt is if it's part of a Halloween costume. This is my personal opinion, you do you, but the length of this skirt is also just too "precious" of a look on my small, middle aged self. This could definitely be pulled off to look young and flirty, I just feel like for me, it sends off an odd signal. If you are looking for a cute and short skater skirt that twirls for all the fun, go for it!

Love how this looks. Fits well and is a good length on me. easy to mix and match tops with. Very cute style. Is also real material and not that shinny slippery crap.

Let me tell you a story about my purchase of this item, I understand that there are some mixed reviews on this product but let's get down and gritty with the breakdown!! Shipping: Shipping was like any other shipping experience, I do suggest being a prime user as shipping seems to be handled and care and passion. It came in one of your regular old small amazon bags, nothing fancy. Once you opened it up you have a plastic bag with the skirt in it. Not much labeling it was simple packaging but that's all we really ever need. First Feel: As you open up the packaging and feel the material it's quite a weird scratchy type of material used on the product. It does have a tag on the back but when you put it on for the first time there is a major seem line that you can see on the left hand side of the skirt. It fit very well and was true to my size so I was happy about that, it was cute looking to which was a big one up in my book. After Using It A Couple Of Times: After using this skirt a couple of times the seem on the left seemed to work its way out and it looks more natural. I'm still not a huge fan of the texture and meterial it is made out of, but other than that it is sturdy meterial so no need to worry about that. It looks super cute and honestly great for how much the price was, this will definitely be a skirt I will be wearing on the regular. Pros: - Good Price - Cute Looking - Sturdy Product - Well Made Cons: - The Material Made With - The Seem On The Left Side (seems to work itself out) In Conclusion: For the overall price and for being a product on amazon this was a surprisingly good piece of clothing. Yes could the material be better quality, yes can the seem be more edged out.
