I got this mold so I could make a bunch of mermaid tails at once - so for that, I love it. The first batch I made, only two tails broke. But the 2nd batch, no matter what I did, half of them broke - which was super frustrating. But they were easy to glue back together with the chocolate, so not the end of the world. Overall, the end product was exactly what I wanted, so I’m still happy with the purchase.

These made super cute chocolate mermaid tails for cupcakes! I was able to fit two of them in a sheet pan that I had, then filled with melted chocolate. It didn’t take much to fill them at all, I used a metal scraper to scrape off the excess and then put them in the freezer. I found that getting them out of the molds was a little difficult and I did break several of them at the shin part right in the middle, luckily I just threw the chocolate back into the microwave and melted it again and made more. I made four sheets of them for all the cupcakes. The size looked great on full size regular cupcakes and even on mini cupcakes! Would definitely buy again!

I was very excited to use these on my cupcake tops until the tail fin kept snapping off. Flaw in the design...the mold is toooo shallow at the thins spot of the tail and fin connection. No matter the quality of chocolate you use or how long or cold your chocolate is most with snap off as release from mold. Very frustrating because the mold shape and look is VERY good and perfect for decorating. Quality of mold it excellent too! Just a design flaw, we're the mold is to shallow to have strength to hold up from releasing candy from mold with chocolate. Had to get very creative to heat thin pieces back together after Many attempts to make them over and over.

Don't mind the frosting and toppings vomit. Test runs for kids! The tail mold was so helpful! Just melt your chips, bark, or bar, spoon in, use a spatula or knife to wipe the excess off, place in the freezer for a few minutes, and they come right out! Easy to clean, easy to use, doesn't take up much space.

They were the hit of the party! A few tips,1. If you want more than one color use a brush to paint the scales and then add the second color. 2. You can also add two colors and swirl with a toothpick. 3. Tap the mold on a table to release any trapped bubbles. 4. Take extra care when removing from the mold as the center of the fin breaks easily. 5. The fin will wilt if it gets warm on a hot day.

The cake I wanted was not going to be available for my daughters birthday party, so I ordered these molds and made a bunch of mermaid tails for her cake and cupcakes myself. They came the next day and were perfect for the mermaid themed fiesta.

i have used this mold on several occations for my epoxy projects, and after quite sometime, they are still in tip top shape . highly recommended.

It’s really hard pulling the item out of the mold because parts are so tiny. Kept breaking at the tail but I did not have any tools small enough for gently scooping them up and was trying to use one prong on a fork.

For every tail that you remove from the mold intact you will break at least one. The part where the tail meets the tail fin narrows and is incredibly fragile. It makes it really hard to remove.

Perfect little mermaid tails, not to big, and easy to clean, and just the right thickness, love them thank you.

Be careful the tail might break a few times in the beginning, till you get the hang of it.
