Bluetooth Stereo Receiver by AVX Audio

I was a little unsure of ordering this receiver. Had never heard of AVX audio. It had what I needed which was a phono hook up for my record player & bluetooth. So figured for just 139$ I'd give it a shot. Well after 2 weeks I have no regrets. This thing cranks!. Its set up very simple. Not a lot of options for tweaking. Bass, treble, volume but that's all you really need on it. It powers my record player real well. Bluetooth range is good. I can walk around whole house with iPod or phone & don't lose signal.I have 2 sets of speakers hooked to it. A pair of Sony bookshelf speakers & a pair of Sony tower speakers. The amp is set up with an A channel for one set of speakers, a B channel for another set or AB channel so you can listen to all four at same. time. That's very useful when spinning different old vinyl since some sound better on smaller speakers & some on the towers. & when all the speakers are on at once, it literally rocks my whole street!. I am very happy with this receiver. If you are looking for a very basic but great sounding amp I would recommend this. Serves it's purpose well for what it is.

This unit connects to Bluetooth easily. It has good sound and I use it with A and B sets of speakers where one set is in the house and the other is outside in a covered screen porch. I can switch to just play sound inside, outside, or both at the same time. I am disappointed with not only the FM reception (you will see this in many reviews because not external antenna), but also using the FM receiver. Still trying to figure out how to move from channel to channel and the documentation is literally 6 pages long and it says NOTHING about using the FM. But, I did not get it for FM, I got it for Bluetooth and the A/B speaker configuration so for that I like it. If it had an external antenna input and was easier to tune in a station, it would definitely be a 5 start product for the price.

I will first list my complaints: 1. The FM reception is lousy (I have never had a problem in my region reaching my favorite FM station 88.1 (Kjazz) until I got this unit. It also is difficult tuning in other stations. I had to buy a power antenna (separately) to get my stations (which, by the way the manufacture suggests if you have difficulty tuning stations. 2. The USB connection sound is faulty & you cannot select what music you want to hear on the USB, so you have to go in the order the USB plays it. 3. The display window to view status and input selection is ridiculously small (narrow). You have to have superman vision to see it from the couch. In fact, I had to squint my eyes to read it, or, get closer to the unit (and I have 20/20 vision.Crazy! 4. Although it has a "tone" adjustment it is very limited. The good stuff: 1. It has good power and sound. 2. It is easy to set up.Although I'm not completely happy with the unit it is adequate for the price. It is a receiver, not a AV Receiver, so there is no TV monitoring only audio through the AUX connection.

This gets two stars because the Bluetooth communication drops out at about 15 feet from the receiver. When the Bluetooth drops out the amp creates an amazingly loud notification beep, which can be quite startling. We have the amp connected to a whole-house speaker system and we have been startled awake in the middle of the night by this beep. The manual does not mention the beep, and the manufacturer has not replied to my inquiry about muting the beep. It makes the same loud beep when it is turned off. We are careful to make sure the amp is turned off at night. It would be nice to be able to either eliminate the beep entirely, or to be able to control the volume

These guys are amazing. Call them before you buy anything. They are in Columbus OH. Real audio and video experts. Turns out this unit didnt work when it arrived and I was unable to return it (I live in Africa). Their support guy said, no problem we will replace the unit when you have someone going over from the states... we will replace it at no charge, ship it to any address you ask n the US and "bob's you uncle" as they say in the UK. Actually their guy recommend a different unit than this because this unit wasn't powerful enough to power the big speakers I had... now I am breaking glass with what I got. It's nice to work with a firm where they speak english, they get what service means and they can get stuff overnight. These guys know their equipment and have loads more you won't know to look for unless you are an audio/video - file.

Bought this to use on a soffit in a high-ceiling room. I hooked it up to a pair of Legacy bookshelf speakers and I stream from my iPhone via blue tooth. Between the blue tooth remote and iPhone connection, I never touch it. It sounds great and it's almost out of sight, My wife really loves it for that reason. If you're looking for a unit that provides good, clean sound with blue tooth connectivity to be placed in a place where wires are a problem, this is your unit.

Just like some other people have mentioned, this receiver has plenty of power and features for the price. Best price I’ve found considering all of the features it has. Bought this because I recently re-discovered the listening to vinyl records and it's one of the few receivers with a phono input that doesn’t cost $500. Bluetooth feature is also convenient, if I don’t feel like listening to vinyl I can play music from both my or tablet instead. Solid buy for the price.

The unit works well as intended. The volume knob does not rotate easily it is as if it was bent. However using the remote or Bluetooth gives other options for adjusting the volume. Just concerned about he quality but so far so good. It is a good unit if tiy want both Bluetooth and a record player. Many of the other smaller units do not have the Phono input on the back. This is a simple solution that gives you FM Bluetooth and phono with pretty good sound quality. It allows me yo use some of the older speakers we have lying around.Bluetooth range is good but we are in a 750 sf condo there is not to far to go to test the range.
