Unbelievable value! 5 Stars despite initial ball head problem (fixable)
The value is unbelievable. $60 ('sale price')for a tripod with this much functionality and sturdiness is superb. Build quality is good where it matters - like the tripod legs and metal components. Other items have a cheaper plastic feel, like the knobs that adjust the ball head. I love the cleverness of the three 1/4-20 connections built into screws where the legs fold. What a great surprise for me to uncover. For the price, SmallRig has clearly prioritized putting money into the right areas. One con is that as delivered, the ball head did not have smooth range of motion. It would get stuck while moving or rotating it instead of having a fluid motion. This worried me a lot, as that's one of the most important factors of a good ball head tripod. I moved it through all positions to troubleshoot and found extra material on the very bottom of the ball, it looked like dried superglue :/. I was able to scrape off ~2/3s of the material and the ball head started moving much better. I would have returned it if this quality issue persisted.

A Game-Changer for Photographers!
I recently got my hands on the SmallRig 71" Camera Tripod, and it has completely revolutionized my photography game. The build quality is outstanding - the aluminum frame feels sturdy and durable, giving me confidence in its longevity. One of the standout features is the 360° ball head, which provides unparalleled flexibility in framing shots. It's incredibly smooth and easy to adjust, allowing for seamless transitions between portrait and landscape orientations. The versatility of this tripod is a game-changer. The fact that it can transform into a monopod adds an extra layer of functionality that I've found incredibly useful for on-the-go shooting. Plus, the adjustable height range from 16" to 71" is a game-changer, enabling me to capture shots from various perspectives. The payload capacity of 33lb is impressive and easily accommodates my professional-grade camera equipment. I appreciate the stability and peace of mind it offers when working with heavier setups. The foldable design is a huge plus for portability and storage. It's compact enough to fit in my gear bag without taking up too much space.Overall, the SmallRig 71" Camera Tripod is a top-notch piece of equipment that caters to both amateurs and professionals alike. It's a versatile, reliable, and durable addition to any photographer's toolkit. Highly recommended!

Light, sturdy, great ball head
I like this tripod. It's light (a travel tripod,, after all) but sturdy. The way the legs fold up and lock is clever. I particularly like the ball head's very firm grip. I was concerned that it might not hold my very large, heavy superzooms. Not a problem at all. Well done, Small Rig.

Tall and Light, sacrificing a little sturdiness
I needed a lightweight tripod for stationary video filming away from home. I needed a tripod I could set up in a room and shoot over the heads of other participants. This fit the bill perfectly - it really is amazingly tall as fully extended the camera is above my head. And it's certainly lightweight for travel. That said there are some obvious corners cut for lightness - I wouldn't use this on a windy day outdoors or with heavy equipment (I shoot micro four thirds so this isn't an issue with me). It looks like (although I don't want to scratch it t test) that the ball head may be plastic, and the legs at the bottom are definitely on the thin side, and when fully extended things get noticeably a little flexible - although definitely not loose. But for my needs this is perfect.Good:Tall, very very tall.Light - incredibly lightweightFolds extremely short in reversed position or slightly longer and narrower with the top tube lowered.Good spring-loaded leg angle adjusters.Firm leg lock leversComes with phone holder an extra quick release plate (nice touch!) and metal leg tips for if you're shooting outdoors on the ground.Fair:Not the sturdiestMaybe a plastic ball head, not the smoothestI wouldn't trust the leg lock levers in extreme coldIn short, it may be just the thing if you need a fixed position tall tripod for a lightweight camera. If not there are hundreds of others to choose from. For me this is perfect.
