Works like it should
Works well.Pros:Price, for as well as it works, great price.Lightweight, so ideal for transporting.Built in cord, dual USB C and AFastQuietIf it is important to you, a nice looking piece of kitCarry bag is a nice touch.Cons:Feels a bit cheap, being all plastic. As with any electronic device dropping would be bad, but this feels like it could break a bit easily. But if permently on desk really not an issue.Lightweight, pushing disc carriage in can cause the drive to slide, a better set of feet would help (I added two rubber, non-slip ones, makes a big difference to me at least).Kinda short cord, and being attached could be an issue if damaged. With the disappearance of DVS's and CD's and rise of Streaming and online delivery, this drive should be perfect do 98% of folks needing access to discs, and at a terrific price.

Doesn't Always Work
This regularly has difficulty copying CDs. It doesn't matter if it's a Mac or PC, it simply doesn't recognize some tracks as playable/downloadable, or worse, it downloads only a portion of the track. I've found this to be true across multiple CDs, so it's not just an issue with one CD.I've found it works best selecting a track at a time, but that's ridiculous (and it's still not always successful).

Works well for the price
I was skeptical with the price that this would work well and was honestly concerned with the possibility of spyware or something that would breech data. In spite of my concerns, I thought I'd give this a try because I really needed a way to access older family photos we have saved on cds. My software that catches spyware, viruses, etc. did not find anything when I hooked up this DVD player, so I hope they eases anyone else's worries, too.The DVD player came and seemed to be of really good quality. It even has a nice velvet bag to store it in when not in use. The instructions are clearly not written by a native English speaker and some bits are a bit vague, so I'll tell you what worked for me:1. Before connecting it to your computer, if you want to use it for DVDs, download a DVD player. My computer had a media player for photos and audio, but no DVD player app (which makes sense, since it didn't have a DVD player!) The DVD player's instructions say to "download the local famous player." That's what it's talking about :-) I downloaded the free Nero player for my old Windows computer.2. Plug the USB into your laptop. It has two different plug ins, looks like a regular USB and maybe a usb-c. Not sure when your need that other connection, but it's an option!3. At this point you may have to change the region for the DVD player. It is set on the east Asian region, so I had to change it to USA/CA.4. Open the DVD player on your laptop if you want to play a DVD, otherwise just click on the box that pops up on the right side of the screen that says something about the DVD player and click play media.5. Enjoy your dvd, audio files, or photos!I did this with my photo cds first and it worked perfectly, then figured out I needed to open the DVD player first when playing a DVD and didn't have any hiccups with that either.Works fine, made well, does the job at a really good price. I am very pleased!

Great value, does what is needed
I retired my last system that had a built in drive, so I went for the cheapest drive I could find. The drive is/does as advertised. I like that the cable stores in the bottom of the case and that it comes with a cloth bag to put the unit in. For reference the one I received had a dual port cord as shown in photos, not a USB cable with an adapter for USB-C as shown in the video. I do with the cord was just a tad longer, on a standard Dell desktop tower system, the cord just barely reaches the USB ports and allows the drive to sit on top of the tower at the back of the unit. The unit was a little heavier than I expected, (was expecting close to the weight of units from laptops, but it still isn't that heavy at all, and I take the little extra weight to be from the nice case around the drive unit. The cover the drive was partially off on my when opening the box, but those just snap into place, so it went right back easily and has remained in place after use several times, so I'm not dinging it for that.Great value! Saved going and picking one up at a local store for 2x the price. Free by 10am next day delivery made that an option as I had a need for this today.
