Bluetooth Speaker, 24 Hour Loud Wireless Speaker VAVA VOOM 23 Outdoor Rugged Portable Speaker (IPX6 Weatherproof, Dual Bluetooth 4.1 & 3.5 mm AUX Port, 5200mAh)

The speaker is great, I have been using it for about 2 weeks. My daughter has been using it to play her MP3 music while studying. I had some trouble using the Bluetooth mode initially. The solution was simple, but unexpected. It turns out that if there is a cable in the 3.5mm line-in jack all Bluetooth functionality is disabled. When I contacted support they did not think of this possibility either. I figured it out accidentally. It has very good sound quality and the battery lasts a very long time at a moderate volume. I have not tested it for actual battery length under max load, I have not gotten it wet, I have not dropped it, and I don't know exactly how far the bluetooth range extends. I can say it worked great all day while working outside on a full day landscaping project while my MP3 player died and I had to plug it in. My wife heard it for the first time last night and immediately wanted one for use with her phone in the car.

This Vava Voom 23 Rugged Bluetooth Speaker arrived in excellent time. Once you open the box you are greeted with a very well thought out layout within the suitably designed packaging.In addition to the Speaker, also supplied are- 3.5mm jack to jack audio cable (for connecting any non Bluetooth device)- Micro USB cable- Carabiner- User GuideAs always, the first thing I always do is ensure any device is fully charged, using the USB cable supplied. (A plug was not supplied but that really isn't an issue as plugs are aplenty and USB chargers are a must have, and I do). If the Bluetooth speaker is empty, it's probably best to charge overnight as the "5200mAh battery" is likely to take a good few hours to charge.It is worth taking a bit of time attempting to describe the speaker. It is rectangular with raised edges and at its widest points measures 19cm x 8cm x 5cm thick.It is a rugged yet attractive looking speaker. It does look really good. As mentioned, it is rectangular with the top and sides centre rim trim (which houses buttons and ports), made of silicon and in black. The rectangular face is charcoal grey, made of an aluminium mesh (bolted on with hex screws) that has the word "VAVA" written on.This Bluetooth speaker has good weight, weighing 555g and feels solid.There are four buttons :. Power. Bluetooth. Telephone / Play / Pause. +. -It also has two ports on one side - micro USB and an aux port. The ports are covered by a silicone cap to avoid dust and splashes entering them. On the other side is a plastic loop and is where the supplied carabiner will attach.The front of the speaker looks pretty much exactly the same as the back (minus Vava logo)The protruding bottom corners are also at the top, but the bottom sits on a silicone base, meaning less vibrating, meaning the speaker does not go for a walkabout. Also, the entire speaker is waterproof.Powering on the speaker is simple - press the power button for 2-3 seconds and you are greeting with some tones. Next to pair. Look for 'Vava Voom 23' on phone and connect. Some more tones confirm immediate success - no pairing codes needed.Music ...To be honest, and before sampling the sound, my biggest fear was the quality of music and its transmission.This speaker is really quite loud. More importantly for me, clarity of output is excellent for this type of speaker and price range. Vocals are distinct whilst, trebles and mids are very apparent whilst bass is pretty darn satisfactory. I'm really enjoying the overall sound from this speaker.Worth noting that the volume of the speaker works with my iPhone. iPhone functionality can also be controlled from the buttons on the speaker - Play/pause, volume, forward back. Short press - or + to adjust the volume, long press goes back or forward a song respectively. Short press the telephone button to play or pause music.Movies .... No problem .... This speaker adds another dimension and is a huge improvement to the enjoyment, particularly when watching via tablet and particularly so during action sequences. It's very satisfying (I position behind the tablet with the tablet leaning on it - the speaker is heavy enough to hold it up).Next to have a test of the telephone functionality. Unsurprisingly, call quality is good but the real quality of this speaker is its sound.I am very satisfied with this speaker.

At 1st this thing rocked! Christmas gift. Impressed. Now it seems as 1/2 the speakers work. I use it to play music and play along with while practicing my acoustic guitar. Very hard to hear even over that. Almost just a Paperweight.....sad.

I was excited to receive this after reading so many good reviews, but today is only my 2nd time using and I hear a very loud clicking noise which is most annoying.

Who is VAVA? Who cares when the item is this good.This is my second purchase from VAVA and I am ever so impressed. The box arrived and was packaged just as professionally as competitors, a plain looking branded hard box; with a QC PASS sticker I must add.I opened it up not expecting much for the price I paid and I can confidently say these are just as crisp and rich as the Beats Pill but a lot more rugged and splashproof. Oh and a fraction of the price.In the box is a small simple manual, an 18 month warranty card (extendable to 30 months upon online registration), an AUX and Micro USB cable, a carabiner clip and of course the speaker itself. The warranty immediately gives confidence that this is going to be a high quality item and honestly, before I opened the cable packets I thought to my self "If only they don't include the basic very cheap cables and include something more customised and of better quality". To my surprise a much softer branded cable with gold plated contacts, and the USB cable has plastic covers on both ends; rare to come by in packaging at this price range. It's the small stuff that makes an impression to me.The speaker has a full aluminium body and remains lightweight-ish whilst being extremely rugged. The rubber buttons and seals ensure water and dust stay out. The on/off button even has an indicative LED which is very handy.The sound quality on this is BEAST! The lows, mids and highs are all there with the bass being priority. I could feel the bass in my arms sitting next to the speaker so if you're looking for a strong portable speaker, here it is.The back looks just like the front and this ensures for a better surround sound than a muffled one like all the other rugged speakers. Also that the back is vented to allow air intake for the powerful bass drivers.The speaker also has audible notifications so you know when you lose connection or are on low battery or have reached maximum volume.All in all I am extremely satisfied by this very rugged looking speaker and its performance. I have a collection of bluetooth speakers in varying sizes and you can see my reviews for most but this is on another level when comparing the materials used.The only detail i think VAVA should add is some information on the power output of the speakers, I think its like 10W or 12W.By the way I have just realised, VAVA spelt backwards or upside down still reads VAVA!
